Trouble getting FS-UAE to boot from my hard drive directories

I just installed FS-UAE today for the first time, and created a simple config to set it up as A1200/060 with Fast RAM and my hard drive files. However it seems not to boot! I just get a black screen...

A couple of times it got to an Aros CLI prompt and all my files were there, however it won't run the startup-sequence.

When i manually type "SetPatch" it gave a weird error about it being a reserved command name?

But now i can't get even that, i just get a black screen every time. Also it seems to be terribly slow (i have not got a very high-spec PC but i'm sure i've emulated Amiga before much faster than that).

What am i doing wrong?

p.s. a "new" Amiga game will be released as soon as i get this to work!!!

Sounds like you are missing a proper kickstart ROM, and it runs with the built-in AROS ROM replacement instead. It is possible this is the cause of your problem.

FS-UAE should automatically pick up the correct ROM if it is put in the FS-UAE/Kickstarts directory.

i don't have any other Kickstart ROMs unfortunately, i hoped the AROS ROM replacement would be fine, it is enough to boot into Workbench isn't it?

oh no wait i found a 3.11 ROM, but it still doesn't work

I get these errors in the console:
Code:
libGL error: dlopen /usr/lib/dri/r300_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/r300_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
libGL error: unable to load driver: r300_dri.so
libGL error: driver pointer missing
libGL error: failed to load driver: r300
libGL error: dlopen /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
ok i found those libs and put symbolic links in and now i don't get the errors but it still doesn't work

AHAAA! For some reason it doesn't work with 32Mb Fast RAM! (Which is what my real Amiga has) i put it down to 4Mb and it goes!

But my drive names/labels are wrong now...
