CF card and dual boot (AmigaOS/AmigaSYS)

I have got a CF card with two partitions: AmigaOS (CHD0) and AmigaSYS (CHD1). By default booting to AmigaOS but when I try to switch to AmigaSYS (CHD1) at the early startup meny it won't to boot - I have got only KS boot screen. This same when I will pick AmigaOS (CHD0) at the early startup.

Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

dir CHD1: ????

realy don`t know
don`t know why they are called chd1 & chd2, might be beter to start again but call partions dh1 & dh2

what size is cf card ? not that any size should be a problem well if its over 4 gig then theres a few tricks to use but still not a problem

dose the card boot at all, sounds like it dose

edit right just read that link

from sounds of it you doing it wrong heheheheh, though just reread it and you may be doing it right after all, I sugest you email the seller as it sounds like something is corrupted on the card.

as a side note a bet the seller has no permission to be selling wb

you could put the card in a pc and use winUAE to look at it

Can you access the second drive 'CHD1:' when using the default boot partition? Has it got a valid startup-sequence in S:?

Clicks come from the floppy drive (A1200 is open). I can see CDH1 at the HDToolBox and I have AmigaSYS icon on WB.

Up to now I would say that the CF card does not survive a software reset. What happens for example if you run the Reboot program which is on the Install 3.1 disk ?

What happens if you change boot priorities in HDToolbox (CDH0 = prio 0 and CDH1 = prio 1) and then use Ctrl-A-A to reboot ?

What happens if you change the file system of a partition to something else and back in HDToolbox so that it asks you to reboot ?

Is this same situation. No boot, only the Kickstart welcome screen.

OK, that's weird... I though you were getting at least a shell window (like when you boot without a startup-sequence).

Like others suggested the priorities might be a problem. Here's a tip: if you change the CDH0: priority to something higher than 5 you'll avoid that clicking sound and shave off a few secs of boot time. The downside being that whenever you'll want to boot from a floppy disk you'll need to choose DF0: manually from the menu.

OK so:

When you turn the Amiga on it boots using the first CDH0 partition? Right?

Then when you press Crtl+A+A it boots to it again? Right?

But when you press Crtl+A+A and enter the early startup menu and choose CDH0 or CDH1 you get the kickstart screen? Right? And does the same thing happen when you enter the menu right after powering up?
