Pinball Dreams versions
I noticed that original IPF images from CAPS have different intro music than widely available ADF images - cracked disks have double snare hit at the end of Digital Illusions logo, while original disks don't. Why so??

ADFs are mostly based on late Beta releases, Press releases and so on...

I thought the IPFs were there to preserve all original releases rather than simply one version of the game?

Well the late NTSC version doesn't have that double snare hit either (it also has different font in menu scrollers), so it seems legit that the cracked versions come from some early release.
