Lotus Challenge Game loads in UAE but not in Amiga Forever

Hi all,

New around here so be gentle.

Odd question.

I'm using Amiga Forever 8 (full DVD edition) and quite liking it.

I'm prefering to use adf files than rp9 given they've now also added the fullscreen controls so disk swapping is easy, and I was having mixed results converting games to RP9.

Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge works fine if I load it directly in WINUAE, but it wont load in Amiga Forever :/

I've tried a few copies of the ADF files.

Some will Guru on me.

Others will load to AmigaDOS and do nothing else.

But they work fine in WinUAE?

All other games I've tried so far in Amiga Forever are fine, including Lotus II and III.

This is the only one I'm having this odd issue with.

What part are you having an issue on?

I have it loaded right now and am not seeing an issue.

I have the .adf and right clicked it an auto-converted it to
rp9 and it seems to be doing fine

I'm not using rp9. I'm loading ADF files direct as disks using AF8's new full screen control buttons.

On some versions of the ADF it will seem to load but stop at AmigaDOS.

On others it will get as far as the Gremlin Graphics logo load screen, with graphical glitches, and then fade to white, then black, and hit me with a GURU MEDITATION error.

I had had it as an RP9 when I was playing about with setting those up with screenshots, so it was working at some point, but then the RP9 stopped working, and now I get the above even when loading direct from ADF.

I did wonder if WF was "caching" bad settings for it, so I deleted the RP9, but it didn't help.

As said, the ADF images I'm using work fine directly under UAE, and all other games I'm playing work fine under AF8, even when loading directly from ADF.

....aaahhhhhh...the only OTHER difference with Lotus 1 is that I just thought about....I'd ALSO added this game to one of my workbench images as a WHDLOAD game, but couldn't get it to work. That may be it!

I'll have a play about with removing all traces of that. I bet that's it!

Fixed

Was nothing to do with my attempt at using WHDLoad within an Amiga Forever workbench image, or any resulting cache/settings.

In Amiga Forever, I'd allocated 512k slow ram, but I hadn't ticked "A501" at the bottom, on the A500 setup I'd created.

Ticked that and Working fine now.

Always something simple.
