1) basically installs authors have their own forum, the yahoo group. that place is mostly for posting bugs on the installs and testing. 2) the authors usually pick their own faves or interesting games for to write an install and check it on the rooster at whdload site. when the interest to complete an install or the time lacks, you can see the game stay there for months with the status percentage hanging, because anyway, not another writer picks it up, generally, not to overlap efforts. (please notice, i'm not whining, i fully know that whdload, as much as many other amiga projects, is volountering based, i'm just stating.) 3) for the reason at point 2, the authors are not keen in receiving request for games: if the request is posted on the yahoo group, and the person asking can provide the original, then, when an install writer notices it and he is interested, then he pick it, so at least i've repeatedly read here in the forums. at this regard, i would like to point that SPS are abundantedly available around. So resuming, as not everybody here frequents the yahoo forum, we could simply start a thread (there is the forum already in this board: the need is only for a refreshing of the walls, so to speak) collecting: a) all the games that we would like see whdloaded, b) the new features that we would like see added to already existing installs (for instance a cheat here, a file saving rehaul there) and c) the incompatibilities as KG suggests. and then one could periodically submit it to the yahoo forum. what do you think? also, if you GM want to move the last few post in a new thread, i posted here in reply, i was not sure where to post anyway. |

It's maybe not so easy as you think, Marco. I talked to Wepl some weeks ago and suggested him some games. But he has no time for that in the next month or even the next 1-2 years. He wants to fix a lot of his old releases.
I can fully understand this. It is better to have more fully working WHDLoad installs than a bunch of half working ones. I guess the most WHDLoad patcher share the same point of view. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 11 April 2007 at 21:11. |

yeah i understand that and agree: i just think that to have the rooster more open, may help speed up thing, after all, there are guys that want to try writing installs and other that may have forgotten/lost interest in particular requests or games that may be then snatched by other writers.
however it was just a suggestion, i know that whdload staff has already its hands full as it is. |

Yes, some patcher like Dark Angel, Abaddon or Harry has lost their interested in coding the slaves. Some were never released officially, like the slaves from Traxx. He wrote e. g. slaves for Bards Tale 2 & 3.
Sadly i have on programming skills. |

Yeah I'd much rather the old ones were fixed rather than new ones started.
Sounds good! Oh and marco... do you mean Roster? Rooster just sounds hilarious |

How about:
Impossible Mission II Impossible Mission 2025 (both ECS and AGA versions, CD32 not supported AFAIK) Oh, and Thunderhawk too, as its slave was recently improved. Pretty pretty please with sugar on top? |

I'm glad I can help.
Marco was off just for couple days and list got big. Imagine when he takes month off for his honeymoon with Fred, the list is going to be couple pages long, of course if he survives that month. |

Please, as i know there's much already for the current release, keep these for the next month pack (as for what concernes me) i'm just typing them now that i'm thinking about them.
sadly very few chess and dames games have a whdload install, even less the wargames, only the obvious games have it it's time to put a patch to that, you whdload installers! however: Legend of Ragnarok (aka Ragnarok or King's Table etc. (btw i know this game was buggy on disk version, i played a cracked one on my A1200 and it stopped in the turnament after you won the first game: is it the same with the whdload patched version? i ask because i don't see SPS releases for it) War in the Middle Earth Risk Lords of the Rising Sun Antago consider yourself lucky KG, of the more than 30 games i've checked this evening, only these ones have an install |

How about Moonschine Racers (you gotta love that intro) and Road Rash?
I remember Wild Cup Soccer. Played great, but the scrolling was horrible on my A1200. |
