Amiga C workshop
Hi everyone,
I´ve translated to English a great Amiga C workshop from this page: http://www.kaiiv.de/retrocoding/1/ and uploaded it to TheZone. Hope it helps more Amiga users |

From the German site that looks really interesting (so big thanks) but I can't find it in 'TheZone' and there doesn't appear to be an upload folder with the user name 'AlfaRomeo'. Am I being dumb and looking in the wrong place, or do I need permissions or something?

Use the link directly on this page; top right under your login stats, next to the donate menu.

Haha! I never noticed that link before. I need to open my eyes I think.
Sadly I get permission denied. [EDIT] Never mind - just reading the post on how to get access |

You have to join the group 'the Zone'. There is a thread about this somewhere.

AlfaRomeo! This looks like a lot of work! I have a dream of making an Amiga program in C, but with very little knowledge I can't promise anything. However, I am very impressed at the effort you have made in keeping the knowledge alive (plus massive acknowledgement to the original coder and tutorial owner of course .

Thanks for your kindly words guys.
Kai Scherrer, the author of this workshop, promises a second part of this workshop where he will use the framework created in this first part to create some 2D vector graphics routines but I think he never done that second workshop. Maybe some day |

Excellent stuff, it looks like a great guide from skimming through it. The more help available for people starting out the better - we always need more coders!

You might need to elaborate on why you can't read it. A plain text version would be of little use as there are pictures and images. If all you want it an HTML version then try this:

PDF would probably be the most portable solution.

Personally I'm following the workshop with StormC v3 on an Amiga and GCC6 cross-compile and CMake on an Ubuntu partition of my gaming PC. The only issues I've had so far have been down to me, not the tutorial.
I did copy vbcc onto the Amiga so I could install it if you are still stuck. |
