Ghosts 'N Goblins - 100% perfect disk version

Hello there guys,

Unfortunately it doesn't seem that there is any 100% perfect disk versions of this game

The ones cracked by Paradox and then fixed say the following:

If you get to stage 6 there are indeed graphics issues:

...which is more than can be said for the .IPF

With the .IPF file "Ghosts 'N Goblins (1990)(Elite)[0031].zip" I've played all the way through and there are no graphics issues with stage 5 (as Paradox claimed); maybe this .IPF was a final version that they didn't have access to at the time?

Unfortunately though after killing the stage 5 boss, collecting the key and walking through the doors; stage 6 doesn't even load

Anyway; I don't use WHDLoad so my question is does this version's "stage 6" actually have no graphics issues unlike all disk versions (ADF / IPF)?

Would be very cool to have a 100% perfect / trained disk version of this classic arcade game

Hi Damien, for the little story, there are 3 different versions of this game. Please go on the EAB server, check in my folder, and you'll find my own ghost'n'goblins original disk image version in Extended ADF.

The IPF 0031 is one of the faulty releases.

It is the early 1991 batch release, 1mb version with music and sound fx, and all the level 100%.

there is big thread you missed during your absence here :

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...ght=ghosts%27n

CFOU made an install by the way of each of the 3 versions under whdload.

Oh, thank you kindly my friend

Yup, when you disappear for 7+ years that's what happens

...about to go test (but I'm sure all is ok)

Is there a cracked / trained version of this disk though? That would be very cool

...I mean, I can obviously use the HOL cheat that I did when testing the faulty .IPF but a nice trainer with unlimited lives / weapon select / level skip / level selector would be much appreciated

Alrighty; just play tested your extended .ADF Denis and all is perfect

...now we just need one of our talented EAB crackers / coders / trainers to give us a 100% perfect / trained version of this file.

Galahad, musashi9 / Flashtro, Stingray, Psygore or anyone else who has the skills... Who's up for the challenge?

the extended adf is not perfect no even close, it doesn't works fine on AGA, there is not 2nd button support , the hero can't jump and turn in the air etc
the best option to play this is the whload version
also I want the 1 disk version fixed

What?!? It's the perfect version for the Amiga that was around at that time (1989) i.e. an A500... No such thing as an A1200 back then so how could you expect game developers to make sure that it works on a future model...

If it doesn't work on an A1200 well, what can I say... many games don't... and that's always been the issue...

This is what WHDLoad was invented for (many years after the Amiga had died I might add); if you want modified stuff like extra buttons etc. then use the WHDLoad version (I assume it's perfect?)

Me (and I'm sure others who only use disks); would much appreciate a version that is 100% (hopefully with trainer) that we can play on an Amiga that it was originally created for (or via WinUAE).

it seems you don't understand what I said or you never player the real arcade machine
such version was not perfect not even for the A500

the hero can't jump and turn in the air, and such movement is essential if you want to finish the game or play the game, is impossible to finish this game without this because you can't beat the big demons in levels 5 and 6

that's because it was fixed in the whdload version

Oh I've definitely played the arcade version; was one of my favourites when growing up and must have blown many quarters trying to finish it... These days I play via MAME

Ok, get what you're saying. The Amiga version isn't as good as the arcade one but IMHO it's a pretty good port

...but that's not really the point of this thread.

@TOSEC guys; how come the extended .ADF that dlfrsilver made isn't in TOSEC as yet?

It seems you can't read thread topics/posts properly. It's about a perfectly working Amiga disk version with all levels intact, not about a perfect port. Not the first time you've confused things here.

Cheers Denis; just finished it using your extended .ADF (and HOL cheat)

Does Denis's version just need cracking?

Nice! Does the WHDload version have no graphics glitches?

So I downloaded Denis's version of Ghosts 'n Goblins from EAB file server and tested it with WinUAE and it is prefect. It is too big to fit on a floppy disk as it , so I would probably have to use a tool like PowerCopy or Imploder to shrink it down. I love challenges.

Hello there B14ck W01f,

Loads of information about this in the original thread: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=54410

...but now that sir Galahad has passed dlfrsilver's 100% extended .ADF into regular AmigaDos format I'd say just sit tight for now until it's released

well yes, powercopy allows to copy it back to disk if you have an 1200.

@Galahad; we haven't seen your Ghosts 'N Goblins regular AmigaDos format .ADF appear anywhere as yet...

I presume that means you are working on a nice cracktro and more importantly a full option trainer to wow us all?

I think the only one capable to do a good floppy version of this game including jump and turn fix + trainer is CFOU
he promised the floppy version and a new colorful AGA 256 color gng version
but he disappeared 1 year ago,it seems he is busy or something
