Okay, I finally tested it with WinUAE compiled on the 20th of May, with -rtg_blitter 0" parameter enabled, and Direct3d turned on.

Unfortunately, it did not fix the graphics corruption in TVPaint.

Here is the log file.

I was playing with TVPaint 3.5.9 today and noticed a couple of things:
  • The corruption that appears near the mouse pointer happens more when using JIT and/or fastest possible CPU emulation. With slower CPU emulation it's still present, but to a lesser extent.
  • The corruption also occurs when using an emulated Piccolo card.
  • With Piccolo the corruption only appears in 24-bit mode, not 15- or 16-bit. With uaegfx corruption appears in both 32- and 16-bit modes.
That suggests that there could be a bug in TVPaint which only shows up with a very fast CPU. Though I can't seem to get uaegfx to use a hardware sprite (with Wine), so maybe that's a factor.

[I also noticed the WinUAE warning message about rtg.library version appears even when using an emulated Cirrus Logic card, not uaegfx. Is that intentional?]

My first post in this forum.
So,Hello to all of you.
After getting so much usefull information here I thought it is time to throw my 10cent in,too....

I had this problem for some time now and I think I found a solution.
First enable HW-sprite in WinUAE.(save the config)
On the Amiga side check Big Sprite in Picasso Variable Setter (PVS) or just enter the Tooltype in the monitor driver.
Restart the emulation(better to quit than to use the restart button)

The WB mousepointer is now also in low-res but the corupt TVpaint screen is gone. Not the best 'solution' but it seems to work.

in the latest WinUAE 3.5.0 is more simple now.
if you emulate Picasso II and open TV-Paint in 15/16-Bit it works without problems. In 24-Bit i have glitches.
With UAE-GFX it works only with Hardware Sprite Emulation (not need to modify setting in PVS from AmigaOS Side).
of course, wb3.1

However, i think, i should try new solution for my AmigaApps Gamebase that is based on old WinUAE version.

Confirmed.
All TVPaint tools work flawless in 32bit UHD resolution, now.
No additional tweaks needed. Thanks for the hint.
Both of you...
