GVP AT-Bus 2008 Red Screen
The AT-Bus is chucking up an error on bootup Manuf. No. 2092 Prod. No. 8
It has a ATA HD attached that boots WB I'm pretty sure it's only just started doing it. So I took it out and examined the jumpers etc and it all appears to be in order. But when I removed the ATA ribbon cable off I noticed that one of the pins on the board socket had been bent right back. I'm not sure if this was done by the previous owner on purpose or not, but when I tried to bend it back up it snapped clean off I'm pretty sure that this must be the problem as when I switched on with the cable removed there was no red screen. BUT- if I click continue from the red screen the WB boots off the HD with no problem. So whats the deal?? |

Okay, I have fixed this unexpectedly... It seems to have been tied up with a small web of problems involving the HD the Floppies and the GVP HC-8.
Basicly , The IDE HD on the AT-Bus needed to be set to slave so that both floppy drives would be recognised then the jumpers on the GVP needed to be set to the correct amount of RAM plugged into it. I seem to have stumbled upon the solution to all of these problems and it's working just fine. What a relief! |
