Best Video Player... and what format for videos?

Hi:
I just want to play some video clips in my Amiga. I've tried to use one that I've taked from Youtube, and that I've got in Mp4 or AVI. I've tried to play them and ACTION doesn't read it's format. I've downloaded a program for the PC, Oxelon Media Converter, and I can convert all the settings, but still I coudn't play it in the Amiga.
With Oxelon I can choose:
Media Format: A lot of them, including AVI of course.
Video Codec: Another lot, but I don't know which to select. I've got Mpeg1, Mpeg2... an a lot more.
And later I've got to select for video: Widht x Height, Frames/Second, Bitrate (kbits/sec), and in Audio: Stereo or mono or Surround, Sampling rate (it's at 44100), and Bitrate (kbits/sec).

Any suggestion about the format or about what Video player to use?

It's been very very easy to make a video for the Amiga. I've only had to use 5 different programs and to learn some coding in Basic...jeje

Well, it's true I've used 5 programs (but I hadn't to learn Basic):
1-DVDVideoSoft conversor to use a video from Youtube (as Mpg)
2-Oxelon Media Converter to change that Mpg to a Mpg1
3-VirtualDub to change it's frames, size, sound....
4-AVI4HV to modify it more in C for HAM in my Laptop with Vista.
5-Finally in the Amiga, Hamp.run

Well, here I have to beg you pardon because my TV is very very old. I'm waiting my birthday to change it...

and it's too dark. It has the contrast and light at max... and my camera is another shit.... (sig)

Well, anyway I recommend you to see this video I've done of my Amiga playing a very nice spot while booting, made in HAM:

Ah. I've taked off for some days my internal Cd, so I have to click in the window that opens, and it takes a little more to start, but's not a problem.

EDIT: Come on !... Do you have seen a video while booting? Say something.... (different that "mine boots faster")

Whats Basic coding did you need?

I would think maybe your setup could play .AVI but I like the AVI4HV

shame theres no controlls like Stop,Pause........ Also the file sizes are huge no compression so a black borders seems a waste.

Theres also CDXL which maybe better I must admit never tried it because of the ease of convertion with AVI4HV.

Maybe stands for HAM Video - Similar to ANIM just a sequence of HAM6 stills with Audio probably 8bit 8SVX/IFF -use Hamp.run to play it back.
The software is by Damage_X - DDNI got in contact with him and he agred to release the software.

I see this video of yours NovaCoder using Action - Could you give any more info FPS, AVI file size?

Hiya,

The FPS are not 'locked' like they are with AVI4HV, the video will play up the speed that it was originally encoded to. On an 030 you're realistically limited to around 6 FPS with a 320x200 video but an 060 can go up to nearly 20 FPS apparently (which is very impressive for realtime HAM8).

BTW: My video runs at 25fps

EDIT: I've been trying to adapt videos to use with ACTION and Frogger, and I coudn't. I believe AVI4HV is the best I can try. I would like to use Frogger as the Mpeg videos are smaller and they look better (but perhaps I can't make them run as they are "better").
