What's Your "Go to" Amiga Game/Application?

I was thinking about this the other day. Sometimes you just want to fire up the Amiga for that quick fix, or you're testing something out, maybe with new hardware or a different configuration.

The first thing I usually do when getting a new Amiga or piece of hardware is to load up James Pond 2, it's like a unconscious choice, recently bought a cheap HDMI to SCART convertor, first thing I wanted to do is check how smooth the scrolling would be, the game I reach for, James Pond 2.. Same with new audio equipment, eager to hear how it sounds, James Pond 2. New CRT, James Pond 2. So I guess that's my go to game.

Anybody else have a go to game, utility, application?

None of those are actually Amiga software

I think my go-to thing to do whenever I first fire up any Amiga, especially if just acquired, is Workbench :P Boring, I know! But after that I might play Turrican 3.

I meant, those are not originally Amiga games, and they all run much better in the original hardware, to be fair. All three are originally PC-DOS games.

Also the OP's question was of other ilk, not "what do you frequently do on an Amiga", but rather what is your go-to thing to do with an Amiga first. Like if you get a new Amiga what will you use to test the waters out.

Tools of choice that will get installed every time: DirectoryOpus, Audition IV, Protracker, DPaint and CShell.

And if I was to bring back an A500 to life after years of being tucked away in storage, the first game I'd feed in would be either Prince of persia, Stunt Car Racer or Pinball Dreams.

When I fire up for the first time a "new" Amiga (or after a long time an old one) I usually run "Amiga Test-E". It is a small sw that boots and give you the chance to test your hardware... after that I feel much better.

Another one here for Eagleplayer to test audio is OK, also Directory Opus.
If it's a game I'm trying, usually SuperFrog or Pinball Dreams.

Is this some sort of temporal distortion in the fabric of space time where the laws of causality no longer apply? Or you have retrospectively removed yourself from the thread? Either way, your input is most welcome.

P.S. I`m not mad. Mostly.

Oh, my. You just opened a can of worms. My Amiga is my main "quick fixer" and I power it up almost everyday for some quick gaming.

Every week I fire up at least one of these: BC Kid, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, PANG!, Toki, Dyna Blaster and SWOS.

Also, about monthly, I play these: Chuck Rock, Indy Heat, Lionheart, Nitro, Switchblade 2, SWIV, Pinball Dreams and James Pond 2: RoboCod.

Guilty pleasures: Navy SEALs, Silkworm, Doodle Bug, Atom Smasher and Bug Bomber.

I rarely have the Amiga set up these days, but go-to game would be Emerald Mines I guess.

Ami-Express, DCTelnet and lately, Music-X hooked up to my synths via quadra thru. Game wise, I'm all about the OG pinball Dreams.
