Thanks Tim Janssen, that was one of the most beautiful things I've read in a long time. I feel so emotional It's very similar to the story told in the original manual.
Yes you're right, it was received well at the time which is why I said: Quote:

I liked Colonel's Bequest a lot too, and also the Police Quest series - but maybe that was because PQ1 was one of the first Amiga games I played .

Psyborg looks VERY cool.. I should try it out..
Lupo Alberto.. I may be mixing up things (as usual), but I think this game had an MSX/Spectrum version, and it wasn't a very good one. |

Lupo Alberto means "Wolf Albert". It's an Italian strip by Silver about a wolf that fall in love with a chicken of MacKenzie farm. But the dog of the farm don't like this... The best friend of the wolf it's a mole. The game also was Italian made, and here in Italy a lot of people had it. It's funny, you can choose the wolf, the chicken or both! Very hard to finish! I never done it without cheating. On Amiga graphics and sounds are goods.

Well I think "DARKSEED" was underrated
People complained about the "FLICKERING GRAPHICS" but if you took time to play the game it truly was superb In my Opinion |

I heard the story of Darkseed was great but on the Amiga the graphics ruined it. On the PC the sound was very bad giving about the same headache as the person in the game.

The sound on the amiga was great. I have a version in spanish with Spanish voiceovers!
I think my Disk 1 is knackered though.. Is the spanish version in the TOSEC? I'd like to play this again! "Lo siento señor Dawson, pero tiene usted que pagar antes" |

I neglected to mention Deflector, an old mind game, very addictive. Fantastic music, too.
I found a screenshot of the Atari ST version which is pretty much identical here: http://www.atari.st/data/shots/427.gif A beam comes out of the little guy's helmet. You have to turn the orange mirrors to deflect it so that it destroys all the balls and points to the exit before time runs out. If you make a loop, the guy gets overloaded fast and you have to turn a mirror or else you lose a life. Fantastic. |

Thought it was a bit too confusing though. Never got far on the C64 version.

Heh, I don't like Deflector too.
I usually would spin all mirrors radomly 'til I found the solution An underrated puzzle game is X-It (or Zonked) That was a very fine puzzle game, that no one seems to know .. |

I always loved the platform game Prehistorik. It was nothing special, but I found it quite lively and addictive. Unfortunately, an Amiga mag I have gave it a measly 56%. I thought it was better than that.

Hmmm Deflektor! That reminds me of ORBIT!
It's a great game that I used to love in the C64 but that it also has an Amiga version (mind you, I preffer the C64 rev). It's a puzzler derived from the old game of memory, where you have to pick up the pairs to make them disappear and clear the board. The thing is, you have to use mirrors to make the tiles coincide (unless they are next to each other, in that case, no mirrors needed ). Pretty good fun from Germany, I recommend it! On the C64 it was released in the GameOn! diskmag (6/90 methinks), and on the Amiga it was in one of theAmiga Fun! disks (forgot which one, Kodo uploaded it to The Zone a year ago or something, I will try to find it) |

Sounds interesting akira. A bit like Shanghai. There was some other variation where you had to remove tiles in pairs, you should draw a line from one to the other to be able to remove them, you could only make 2 turns on a line.
