Ok done that. What next?

I don't even get any lights on my PCMCIA wifi card at any point. Is there some other software I should be installing?

Also look carefully into the Amiga's PCMCIA slot to check for bended pins.

Done that and thankfully all are straight. I will try the cardreset and cardpatch tonight.

Thanks guys, hopefully that will sort it.

Ran cardpatch and cardreset from the Shell but still no joy. No lights on the Wifi card and not sure what to do next anyway?! Run MiamiDXInit? Then what?

What is the most simple way of testing this? Ive tried AmiTCP and still nothing. Does AmigaSYS or similar come with this already preconfigured?

EDIT: Getting somewhere with MiamiDX..... will post results soon.

It is definitely an Amiga compatible wifi card? 16bit prism2 chipset?

When I set my pcmcia card up with miami I had two issues. The first was I was installing the wrong driver when I should have been using the Sana driver. The second was I wasn't reading the card info from Miami DX during init.

Amiga Explorer trial version will limit you to 1Kbyte transfers but it will show all your hard drives which you can browse...

It is a nice bit of software. Well worth the money.

Follow the FAQ about disabling the MiamiDX firewall

  2. Click the "ADD" button.
  3. Add a new service: Name = "aexplorer", ID = "356", Protocol = "tcp". Make sure to hit the enter key to save the changes.
  4. Select the "TCP/IP" page. Click on the "LAN-Connect" button. Set the Firewall to "AUTO" and add a new acceptable service to the firewall by Adding two "NEW" items: The first one should be "Accept", Proto = "TCP", and D-Port = "356", and the second one is "Accept", Proto = "UDP", and D-Port = "356". Leave the S-IP and D-IP blank unless you know what you are doing and want to further restrict which computers may use this service.
  5. Hit "OK".
  6. Remember to save your settings. (Menu item "Settings -> Save as Default")
  7. Bring Miami "Offline" and then back "Online" to make the settings active.

Cool.

It makes transferring ADF files to and from Amiga much easier... just drag and drop onto DF0: in AmigaExplorer

Copy files quickly to RAM for unpacking.

Not as good as a CF card for large volumes of data but for the odd sub 10Mbyte file it's great.
