You just need to connect it directly to JB like so:
I have the buzzer connected like in the picture to the JB jumper pins and as I said it's working but it would be nice to also have adjustable audio. If a resistor would work perhaps a potentiometer would also?

Just downloaded & checked and the HXCFEUSB_V3_1_30_1a.UPD is there in the wip folder.
The zip is probably cached into your browser or a proxy ?

You can switch on/off the audio by software (internal menu & file selector). But yes a potentiometer should work too.

23 September 2018: Firmware STM32 USB HxCFloppyEmulator v3.1.30.2a ( -> In the "Next_WIP_Alpha_Firmware_And_Tools" Folder !)

- Inversed Floppy Ribbon detection at power-up :
"rib" (7 segments display) or "Floppy ribbon reversed !" (LCD/OLed display) message printed at power-up if the floppy ribbon is not connected properly.

- Code optimizations.

I haven't try the Amiga copy utility yet but i don't think that you can have such read/write performance without redesigning it, even with the latest optimized firmware.

Question about OLED displays...
Is there a reason to have the display turn off?
Do they heat up? Does it shorten their life at all?
I can't imagine it draws much power??

Or is it fine to have the OLED display on the whole time the Amiga is on?

Just wondering..

Yes, OLED will wear out eventually, but I doubt you need to worry about it unless you keep the Amiga running 24/7 for years.

I am not sure, these screens seems have some "burn-in" easily.

Plus one important mistake was found on the diymore screens :

https://torlus.com/floppy/forum/view...tart=60#p17196
https://torlus.com/floppy/forum/view...tart=60#p17315

To sum up : This OLED screen is over-driven because of a bill of material mistake (2 resistors values exchanged...).

Anyway the HxC firmware doesn't completely turn off the screen, but dim it to its minimum level after the "standby" timeout value. Then you still can read what is going on without touching the buttons.

What do you mean by "final" ? "Stable" ? The current v3.1.30.2a can be considered as stable. But before moving it "officially" into this case, i have to do and pass all the validation process. This is a quite long procedure because the firmware is tested against all supported formats and access modes during some hours. This is why don't do this for each firmware release and why there is an "Work-In-Progress" firmware .

Why does it matter which folder it is in? It simply means that it hasn't been fully verified yet. You should just try it, and I would be 99.9% certain that it wouldn't cause your Gotek to explode.

If it doesn't work for you for whatever reason, then you can always downgrade to some earlier version.
