Scsi Cdrom

Need some guidance with a problematic CDROM please.

SCSI chain = BPPC - CDROM (UNIT 5) -HDD (UNIT 2)- Terminator.

My HDD works perfectly. SCSI Config shows both devices.
I also have an IDE HDD and an IDE CDROM as CD0:

With a CD in the SCSI drive I can select Mount and Start from SCSI Config. However the CDROM is never read, it is always (after a long delay) reported as a NONDOS disk.

Without a CD in the drive, SCSI Config Start option Returns a drive error

Is there another way to mount this CDROM?
Do I need to change the chain order?

The SCSI CDROM can be Terminated with Jumpers. Would this terminator be sufficient to terminate the whole SCI chain?

I am quite sure that SCSIConfig cannot mount CD drives. You have to install a CD file system like AmiCDFS, CacheCDFS or AsimCDFS. Or enable the CD Mount function in the BPPC's BIOS menu (hold down the Esc key after a reset).

Thx Thomas, my mistake it was Unit Control that I was trying...

I will look at the bios menu.

Do you think the SCSI chain is set ok?

UnitControl can't mount CD drives, either. The mount button is for hard drives, only.

If the terminator is an active one (as opposed to a passive one) and none of the drives has its own termination enabled, then yes, should be ok.
