At first a TI-99/4A (loved it), then a C64 (not bad), then an Amiga 500 (greatest machine ever).

Dragon 32.
In all honesty, it wasn't great when compared to C64 and Speccy, but I loved it dearly and still do to this day. The Dragon 'version' of Donkey Kong - Donkey King, written by Tom Mix Software and published by Microdeal (IIRC) - was amazing, and still holds up well to this day. Chuckie egg was also particularly good on D32... |

No Amiga in the voting?! That's really odd.
My first personal machine was an A500 with 2 MB extra mem (2.5 MB toital), extra floppy drive and printer, and connected to a large by that times 25" Sony TV! The time when home computing was fun! But really first experience must be some friends 48K spectrum or something. Unless small LCD hand held's count ? |

I think the title should be changed to "what 8-bit machine..." sure were a lot of them too... Speccy +3 was my first machine, probably too young to really appreciate it, kinda cool with the hard cased custom floppies and I wish I still had it, never had many games for it though!

I had a spectrum 48k, my brother got a VIC-20 and was programming in basic on both (managed to do some simple multicolor games on vic), plus a friend had C64 and we were writing BASIC listing on class

Didn't think speccy was popular anywhere other than UK and some parts of Europe. |

C64 for me. Bought it in '84, if I am not mistaken. Then an A500 somewhere in 1988. Went 'pc' in '93.
The 64 was cool and I expanded it bit by bit. But boy oh boy, that A500... :-) |

FOL, I totally missed that trick, and really missed out. never had the tape deck, my time on it was limited to a selection of disk games (which I think cost much more than the tape versions) mostly arcade ports from ocean. |
