Amiga
+Superfast boot into the system in seconds, not minutes +NO NOISE (use CF instead of HDD), no ventilators, absolutly silent +Quick games launching, nearly no loading times (use WHD) WinUAE +Configurable +Quick games launching +Savestates and screenshots grabbing In my opinion: Real Amiga is perfect for gaming, UAE is perfect for Amiga web building, mapping etc. |

Wrong forum, this is not a WinUAE problem for Toni to take care of.
This pointless comparison has been brought up a million times, by the way :/ Each one its own, I know I preffer having BOTH! |

Akira:
you're right. Can someone move it to the correct one. About comparison, I did a quick search and didn't find any right topic. My main concern is the age of Amiga. I already had two failures and it's quite difficult to obtain different hardware addons and working joysticks - at least where I'm from. I also prefer both. But I'm thinking if WinUAE would suffice because I have very limited space in my room (too much PC stuff). It's no space even for a tiny PS2 Slim Now I'm thinking about to rearrange my room. |

I don't really agree with that!
WinUAE has become so powerful and feature-rich, it is one of the few cases where emulation is a decent alternative to real hardware. It's also a great tool to use in conjunction with your real Amiga, and it will get you out of tight places. It's great for diagnosing troubles and configuring your system, too. |

Maybe what i said was a bit exreme but i agree with what you say. Back in the old days i loved cannon fodder game but i found it to hard to complete but thanks to winuae and its save state feature i was able to "cheat" and complete so i am alway grateful for it for that reason

I think is even more fun playing a car game (Test Drive Unlimited) vs. driving a real car. Why? Just think about it While playing games on WinUAE with Competition Pro USB or some Arcade stick it's great and I don't think it's any less enjoyable then the "real" thing PS: I'm asking this couse I'm deciding to buy A1200. I used to have one, but sold it a few years ago. And did I mention that the real thing is quite expensive. |

Actual Hardware Or Emulation?
For quite awhile now (I also stated this in my intro thread), I've been wanting to own a Amiga 500
That isn't to say that I haven't been considering emulation as well, but I'm kind of leery of some emulated systems since two Sega Genesis emulators haven't exactly "agreed" with my main computer and laptop. My opinion changed a little bit though when I came across Amiga Forever So, my question is "Is it better to own the actual physical hardware or is it better to go with emulation?" |
