The 1200 could be scanned eith high precision then remodeled accurately enough but isnt its size a problem for current generation of home 3d printers? Also, not sure hiw good they are at building larger structures or what the economy for such a thing is. Right now you're better off buying faulty a1200s off eBay ;-)

I am surprised kickstarter are allowing the cases to be brought through them, after all, the case designs are copyrighted and if the new copyright holder complains then the project would be dead

Actually it is to question if there is a new copyright holder. Cloanto has the rights for the logos and names. Don't mix up trade marks with design patents.

Today the first prototypes of my C64C keyboard mounts arrived. They're fitting very well, but not perfect. have to change some minor things here and there

Everything you design looks top notch @tommes!

Can you also make A4000 floppy and cdrom cover, and A3000 floppy eject button.
I thing there is one floppy drive eject button on Shapeway, but it's missing something, a proper one would be good.

Thanks

I noticed that some people question the copyright of the replacement parts. I'm not sure if you can copyright a part, maybe a design or logo, or characters.
There is an automobile OEM industry creating replacement parts for cars all the time, so I think we should be safe as long as we don't uses Commodore/Amiga logo on parts.

That's the point.

a design is/can be patented though i believe, ask Samsung and apple who are always sueing each other, if the owner of the design has patented the design then in theory it could open a bag of worms

When are AmigaKit going to start offering 3D printed parts?

Come on guys, it's not 1994 you know

I'd love to be able to order a 3D printed printer one day!

I see kickstarter forced dallas who is having the C64 cases made to remove all reference to the word commodore due to whoever owns the copyright complaining. ...

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...w-coo/comments

i see my thoughts of doing an Amiga case going downhill, i wonder who the actual copyright owner of the name is ?

I've never even heard of C= Holdings B.V. but obviously they're a bunch of assholes just like Cloanto and all the other shitty companies that have had their dirty hands on the Commodore/Amiga names over the years.

looks like they are quite busy...

http://www.commodorecorp.com/

their webpage says "As the company responsible for reviving the Commodore name, Commodore Holdings is dedicated to building on the strong heritage of this famous brand." All their page links are dead

hmm, not too much building going on it looks like.

I'm curious - why the beef with Cloanto? They are one of the few software-driven companies still in business that actually give a crap about the Amiga, and built a rather successful business model around the I-want-to-play-games-for-nostalgia-but-know-nothing-about-emulators market. Granted, that's not the primary user base of this forum, but all the same, I certainly think they've actually done a great deal to keep the (living) memory of the Amiga around.
