Floppy switch

Hi, is it possible that some of you techy guys could help.

I would like make or have made a floppy cable to connect a gotek and floppy drive to amiga 500 so i can switch between them.

Could someone help with making one (at my expense obviously) or draw me a diagram on how it could be done.

Thank you in advance
Rich

Look at the floppy port pinout, sel0 is on pin 10. Wire it up so that sel0 from the motherboard goes alternately to pin 10 on the gotek or pin 10 on the real floppy drive via a single pole double throw switch.

No diagram needed, you can use a three connector PC floppy cable for your project, just take apart the last connector and undo the twist, then recrimp the connector..

One wire comes from the A500 motherboard pin 10 to the middle pin on the switch. Then one edgemost pin of the switch goes to pin 10 on the gotek connector, the other edgemost pin of the switch goes to pin 10 on the internal fdd connector.

Not sure why you have two wires going from the motherboard connector to the switch, that is not needed or necessarily even wise.

You can position the motherboard connector in the middle like that if you like, just make sure the sel0 signal always goes to the devices via the switch, not directly.

If we've had the discussion before, why haven't you implemented this yet? :-)
