No. I was hoping that we could get togethert an write an Amiga emulator ourselves, but if we do this, then we have to get a team together.

I'm certainly willing to help as much as expertise and time permit. I do have programming experience under both AmigaOS and Windoze, but I have not written an emulator before.

Good. I do not have programming experience myself, but I've got a copy of Visual C++ and I can use the source code of WinUAE and Fellow, and make a perfectly stable emulator. Do you think the authors of WinUAE and Fellow care if I do decide to use their source code?

By the way, can I have your e-mail address?

If you two are going to make an emulator, I want to say Good Luck.

I would also like to wish you luck

Writing an emulator is harder than you might think (although some say it's easier)

Considering the constant updates to UAE I reckon you'd be better trying to emulate a system which has more limitations.

There are already Amiga emulators which have taken YEARS to develop, and which still aren't perfect.. Make a Coleco or VCS emulator, learn how it's done and then make something new.

The majority of the world's computer users don't have a really fast machine so it seems logical that producing something like a Capcom Ps/2 emulator that works in DOS would be a good thing.

The only limitations are your prejudicies.

I believe RCK is aware of the thread's age, and was using subtle humour to make a point.

And Kodoichi made a funny too. In that cute dry way he does.

Red face

I still say to those who consider winUAE to be a "piece of crap", WRITE YOUR OWN DAMNED EMULATOR!

winUAE still isn't perfect but it's the best it's ever been and will only get better. Just one guy - Toni Wilen - spending his spare time working on it and GIVING IT AWAY FOR FREE only for sad, ungrateful jerk-offs (you know who you are) to mock his efforts (in SUCH a hilarious way ) while contributing nothing positive to the scene themselves. Put up or shut up.

Hilarious.

Although the use of the words "the other people i don't think has much changed of mind" (sic) doesn't particularly suggest a "joke" to me. Whatever.

The above is one of the very few correct statements in your whole post.
It's only logical that the optimisation point moves up with existing technology. You can buy CPU's today that are more than 8 times (!!!) as fast as yours.

If you want to use later versions of WinUAE without sound stuttering and frameskipping ruining your experience, then upgrade to more recent hardware. It's not the WinUAE developers fault that your hardware is outdated.

**edit** lmao!! I just noticed the original post is 3 years old! **edit**

Exodus, hopefully you have a new PC now that runs WinUAE just fine.

My god, I didn't realize how old this thread was until I reread the entire thing once more, it was just a nice trip down memory lane

I would however really like to know how Exodus feels about WinUAE now
