I added another entry for when there was ecs and aga versions and labled them accordingly.

" 1 Game requires 0.2Mb chip mem (+0.1Mb other memory for preload option)

2 Game needs 1.0 MB Of Chipmem & 2.1MB of Fastmem (for preload option)

3 The installed program requires 0.5 MB ChipMem and 0.5 MB OtherMem

4 - 512 Kb ChipMem (+256 Kb OtherMem for the kickstart)"

For those examples:-
Chip - other - total

1 0.2 0.1 0.3

2 1.0 2.1 3.1

3 0.5 0.5 1.0

4 0.5 0.25 0.75

another example I came across was this type of thing, need 0.5 chip and 0.5 other (plus 1.5Mb for preload) - which I edited as

0.5 - 2.0 - 2.5

If anyone like TCD or KG has anything to add as to the format of this - could they speak up before we get started properly.
Anyway, will reload another version in the zone, cheers!

I've done s upto slamtilt which says 2chip 1other but doesnt mention how much for preload, as don't a lot of others, so I stop for now and wait. cos its not helpfull without the info being proper. and alot of the infos don't state preload, what to do ?

i think the info is for preload, as it is set as a standard option in WHDload and is not recommended to be switched off - which is why i suggested to add any preload info to the standard chip and other mem info.

(difficult to show a table on here)

etc etc, that kind of thing, worth it? only include totals including preload? useful?
Chip/Other/Preload would be great Chip and Other for the minimum requirements and Preload as the max amount of memory needed. Looking forward to your and slikworms list Keep it up

problem is there are so many different methods of listing the requirements in the info docs. I assume if there is no proload mem mentioned, the memory reqs mentioned include that.

Yep, just put chip + other as preload if nothing else is mentioned. I know it's a lot of manual work, but I bet many people will be very thankful in the end

I could generate such a list except for the PreLoad size, if wished.
I also added the speces from the slaves to the whdload pages (means exact sizes required for Base/ExpMem).

dont know what googledocs is - never used it

@wepl - thank you,

could someone explain the last three columns to me in idiot terms please? Is that the same as I was doing? chip - other - total for the preload option?

so basically, if you have that amount left in workbench you can run the game with simply a double click?

I assume:

basemem = Chip RAM
expmem = Other RAM (including Fast & Slow, Z3 etc.)
memsum = Total RAM (basemem + expmem)

I think that these are the amounts required for the slave to work EXCLUDING the amount needed for preload. But I dunno for sure.

yes. expmem can also be chipmem (e.g. on a 2mb chip only machine).
memory for os, whdload itself and preload must be added

! there was a error in the script ! causing the expmem and memsum to be wrong, the list has been updated now.

I have added a query for all slaves, contains also Slaves from old/outdated installs. Can be downloaded here:
