ClassicWB ADV/ADVSP on PAL TV
Hi All,
Firstly thanks to Bloodwych for he's continued work on these Classic WB packs I have an A1200 with 3.1 ROM's and 4Mb RAM expansion running on a normal TV set that I am mainly using for playing games on. I like the look of the ADV/ADVSP packs, but it looks like it's really for non TV resolutions. Is it possible to get the Classic WB FULL to use 64 the colour screen mode? Or can the ADV/ADVSP packs be used with TV resolutions? I am also being conscious that I don't want to use too much RAM so I can still run the WHDLoad games. Thanks, Ross |

You can use them but your screen will flicker when on workbench becuase of the higher resolution. Just reduce the resolution to the standard low-res and you get rid of the flicker problem at the cost of bigger icons if the flicker annoys you. Ive got used to it on high-res, doesnt bother me aymore.

Hi I use it ADV SP on a normal non HD LCD TV via RGB Scart and its just fine.
Theres a little flicker when you click an icon thats the only problem I have. Also if you do not have an accelerator it will be a little bit slow loading icons but I was happy using it like that before I got my accelerator. Also with ADV SP you'll be using about 2mb of your Ram but you can use multiboot to load your WHDLoad Games Steve. |

I tried it but didn't really like the interlaced mode, maybe it looks better on some TV's than others. It still looks ok switched back to non-interlaced mode anyway for what I use it for.

http://classicwb.abime.net/classicweb/tips.htm Of course, you can use FULL with any colour screenmode you want. Just change it under the Settings/Prefs. There are no Newicons or more colourful normal icons that I'm aware of that are scaled correctly however for 640x256 non-interlaced. |
