I want to build a 3-way-port1-Expander!

...it already works, but the mouse conflicts with directional control of the joystick/joypad. i want to have a cd32-pad, a joystick and a mouse plugged in at the same time. can i just put an on/off switch in between the 5v for the mouse to switch between mouse and stick/pad-mode??

best regards!

That's all you need. Kill +5V and gnd from the mouse and it'll stop messing around with the joystick.

ok, thanks. i did that.

switching on and off the mouse works for now. to test pad/joy-controls i use fighting spirit with cd32-pad control. all cd32-pad buttons work. directional buttons work. but randomly down-direction is activated when i press left or right. for the joystick plugged in at the same time fire works, up works and left works as up. the other directions don't work. plugging off the off switched mouse makes everything act normal again. does anyone know why that is?

edit: a different and much older amiga mouse i have is totally activated when i hit the on/off switch. looking at the back of the plug from inside the computer i thought +5v is the second pin from the right in the lower row. is that right?

edit2: ok, i did not disconnect ground. that must be the reason. but i don't have that sort of switch right now... can i simply connect the mouse port-ground to a different solder point?

Nope. Try with a 3-positions 6-pins 2-rows switch (H-H style). Use each extreme position to CD32 pad and mouse and the middle position for Kempston joy.

today i got the right switch. so i kill ground and 5v either for the mouse or the cd32-pad. but then i only get a two button cd32-pad.... until i pull out the mouse.

mouse mode is fine though.

all i can say for now is that killing 5v+gnd works for some mice and for some mice it does not.. then the cd32-pad is disturbed, either with less buttons to use or with random directional irritations. so i use the mouse that works with my switch for now.
