I must live in an Amiga graveyard...

In the past few years I've scored some great and not-so-great deals on used Amiga stuff where I live, but I'm still amazed just how much is for sale in Southern California (mainly Los Angeles area). Here are the current Amiga items for sale in the "Recycler" ad magazine:

Quote:
AMIGA 1000 (Commodore)- A complete system! 512K RAM, int & ext floppy drives, color monitor, keyboard, mouse, some software. Must sell due to move. $50

COMMODORE Amiga 1084s Monitor. works great. call and lv number if interested, no pagers or voicemail. $50

AMIGA 4000 PC with monitor. dont know specs or alot about amiga, just come see if interested. keyboard. call & lv number, no pagers or voicemail. $350

AMIGA computers, 5 2000's, 1 3000, monitors, kybrds, mouse, & software, $750 all obo

COMPUTERS, amiga, mdls 2000, 2500, 4000, w /monitors & software, $ 600 obo
Unforunately I don't have the space for any of it, not to mention most of the people live at least 30 minutes drive from me.

Heh, I just saw the A1000 ads today (seller actually has it listed twice). I might go take a look and see how clean it is.

Check out the new items listed today. That $100 A1000 looks like a great deal if you talk him down a bit.:

I would be happy to find any Amiga (or other retro computer) in 60 miles radius. No one sells anything here. Not even consoles.

Actually, the A1000 ($100) guy chickened out and said his Mom told him he couldn't sell it.

That's happened before to me. Amiga or otherwise, it isn't easy to sell for $50-100 a whole computer set up that originally cost you $2000 or so.

Finding Amiga equipment is common in larger cities from what I have seen. Ebay is still a good bet for the rest of you.

Nah, eBay sucks the big one, anytime something is labeled with Amiga it automatically gets the RARE or ULTRA RARE and of course the price goes thru the freaking roof

I don't know, my A2000HD with 286 bridgeboard was pretty cheap on ebay $35 I think. My A500 was also cheap on ebay.

The best deals I purchased were from the newsgroups (games, accelerators, etc) and my A1200 was from a member here at a reasonable cost.

Jmmijo I did give you a lead on some dirt cheap equipment in your area a year or so ago and you never followed up on it.

Yeah and I thank you for it, however at that time I was broke so here I am again, with a little extra but again the prices are not what I want to pay

Perhaps I really want something for nothing but am I that

Some prices are just insane, which is why I never purchased a HD for my A500 and just went with the A2000HD.

Someone on an Atari forum was ditching an ST version of a syquest 44mb external drive, when asked the price it was over $100 US.. so much for that.

If you want to make some money buy some barely operating A2000's and slap a video toaster into it then eBay them.

I notice prices for rare 68K addons have dropped like a rock lately, was hoping Amiga equipment would also. At least I have what I need for my units at the moment.

Here's a new one as of today:
Quote:
AMIGA 500, 1000, 4000, 1080 monitor, floppy drive, tons of software and books. Must take all. $50
I tried to get it but someone else was already on their way. According to the seller the "tons" of software was about 75 disks so I don't feel too bad.

RARE A4000 in mint condition for $500.
RARE CBM 1080 Monitor a must have for $250
ULTRA RARE Amiga Floppy 1010 external drive for $1000

No, it was the 3.5" 720 external drive but 1/2 the height of the 1010. Basicaly the 1010 has the style of the amiga 1010, while the 1011 looks like it was designed for the sleeker 500/1200 series. The 1011's go for more money on ebay (I have one).
