Here is a good one :
http://zx-maps.wz.cz/maps/HeadoverHeels.jpg Altough note this: In my version the rooms that were in multiple parts before are a single room now (with scrolling) so the map is not 100% exactly the same ! |

Truely, truely amazing.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those involved in bringing this great game to life once again. Have you been able to contact any of the original authors of this game and/or those responsible for the various retromachine conversions? I'm sure they would love to get a glimpse of your work and I'd love to hear their comments. Just one question - I was surprised it needs so much ram - 128MB, recommended 256! Oh well, I'm off to play. Thanks again! Last edited by Bloodwych; 23 September 2003 at 11:19. |

Thank you all for your comments ! I appretiate it.
Graham is gonna contact mr. Ritman to see what he thinks. I will post his toughts here. The problem with RAM is that it doesn't have any real memory handling inside. It was ment to be done for the basic graphics (a few tiles for each planet) which would fit into some 16Mb or so. But the graphics just kept on comming and comming so it ended up sooo HUGE in the end that it needs so much ram. I could rewrite the engine to use some sort of memory handling, but there was no real time, since this is a HUGE undertaking. I hope it is still good enough this way. You can play it with virtual ram, but it will stop sometimes to do the memory paging, which doesn't look good. |

Yeah, I had to insert another Dimm to get it to work
I had virtual memory problems. But now it works, and it plays very well. The music suits the game perfectly. Quality all over.. I'm wondering what you're next project is. GREAT game. |

With ram being so cheap these days I agree it's not worth the hassle. It should play from RAM anyway - just like the originals did!

Thanks for the map. And as already stated: ram is cheap these days. And every new system hast at least 256Mb, mostly 512Mb ram, so I don't think that this is a big problem .

That map is EXACTLY the same one as Ive got at home !!! On the back of it is another (isometric) map for a game where you are a diver I recall.
Cant think of the name of the game atm.. |

Hydrofool ? Not one of my favorites. It is a sequel to Sweevo's World (again not one of my favs, altough better).
