Hi I came across the tool I was looking for Infiltrator. Looking around now though I can clearly see there are better editors available.

Wasn't there something called Sectorama in Aminet? No idea if it's any good.

There were two utils I used to use (one just been mentioned) that were written originally for KS1.2/1.3 namely NewZAP and TrackDOS.

NewZAP ran windowed but full screen size and TrackDOS ran in small centred windows. Both tools had two colors inverted under KS2.04+ so I re-wrote chunks of both utilities and fixed them for the new look...

I know that it´s weird to answer old threads, but back then in the 80´s I had a program called SmartDisk. It showed indeed white text on black background. The disk was destroyed and I never found that program again. It was part of a utility disk. It is sort of irritating that there is a harddisk program also called SmartDisk, but the one I refer to could only deal with floppy disks and had nothing to do with it. Gone forever.

Yep, that HD thing is a different one, some cache program or something like that.

I only find the inventories of that disks on the web but not the disks themselves. Some day, I will have to learn how to cope with that modern Internet thing.

Thank you for your quick and profound info.
