A1000 with KS 1.2 on ROMS

Hey all,

I have 2 NTSC amiga 1000's and both of them have 1.2's loaded on ROMS. Whenever i boot up it goes straight to the WB hand disk. I've opened them up, and it looks like the jumpers have been modified and there are now 4 chips (odd, even, odd, even). Looks like official commodore job as the roms all have the official commodore stickers on them. I want to boot KS 1.3, but i cant. Ive tried removing the extra 2 chips, but then it doesnt boot...I havent messed with the jumpers, which my guess is key, but my questions are: Is this common in A1000's? Can anyone point me in the direction of more information regarding this? Also how to revert, and/or upgrade? I guess if i had a programmer and the right chips, i could replace with 1.3s. But i just dont know where to start. I can provide pics later when i get home if necessary.

Not really common, but the ROM chips are official.

There exists some adaptors who enables the A1000 to receive any 256kb ROM (like the 1.3).

How are the jumpers set? I've been trying to get an A1000 motherboard to accept a burned Kickstart 1.3 ROM for a while now, but it seems that I either haven't split the ROM right, or there's an additional modification needed beyond changing the jumpers.

I dont remember how the jumpers are set, but i can open it up and get some pics later tonight hopefully.
