SuperPass 2.1 - forgotten password on old Amiga1200?

Please, can anyone help me?

Have just rescued my A1200 from the attic and, although I can use bootable floppies to start her up, I cannot boot from the HD as I seem to have put a password on it with SuperPass 2.1.

Now, after all these years (and being a bit of an old girl myself!), I have forgotten more than I remember about using the amiga and have exhausted my supply of passwords too. Is there any way around this - can I hack into it or remove superpass somehow, I'm sure there must be a way.

Please don't get too techy on me though - simple instructions needed here, LOL

If you can boot from floppy I would imagine that there is something in your hard drive's startup sequence activating the program.

If you boot up from floppy (Workbench I'm assuming), go into the Shell and type

ed dh0:s/startup-sequence

or if you have it...

ed dh0:s/user-startup

you may find a line containing the program name - if so, just put a semi-colon in front of it, save the file and you should be good to go (AmigaOS ignores lines starting with semi-colons).

The deed is done, the dreaded SuperPass is no more and my lovely colourful workbench with all it's cute icons is once more accessible.
