The Amiga version has far better audio in the music department, but then the Amiga always had better audio in the majority of games that came out which was one of the biggest reasons why i loved/love the Amiga.

Amiga version for sure. Than the SNES one, cause of the extra levels. But the SNES audio is not a clear and fantastic as the AMIGA one.

(Had this idea a while ago and thought it would fit here well)
I'd say the ultimate version 'would be' the CD32 one If someone would replace the original Amiga audio with the one from the PC Engine CD version, and while at it add the intro, that would be awesome! It shouldn't be too hard to do, but good coding skills are needed, which is something I lack... We can dream, can't we |

The DOS version has much better color/different graphics and extra parallax scrolling layers, I would rate it the best (with VGA and SB16 (don't use SB1 or Adblib) then the Amiga, then the st version.

Amiga version is nice but also has the glorious music, and that makes it the version to play for me.Snes does look a little prettier if slightly wierd with that unusal scrolling
I think the trouble with music CH conversions from Amiga to console were that the original music samples on Amiga were often layered i'd imagine - a fuller richer sound. It's true that you could double up say the lead part with another when writing for console but this is unlikely and so these parts would sound slightly thinner than the Amiga ones used - they're not bad on the Snes but there is a layer of feeling slightly missing |

I play JimPower on dosbox 0.72 out off the box, no extra configuration needed... And It looks much better than the amiga version and playability is almost the same (unfortunally), only sound really looks worse than on the amiga. But dosbox really isn't the best place to play jim Power, to get it to run at full speed a retro PC is mutch better.

mine doesn't works....it works but I can't start the game keys and joystick doesn't work... cyberdruid have idem problem I see btw, a retro pc can be more compatible than dosbox but games looks so pixelated on any monitor that's why I like dosbox...I can use screen filters and games looks great the sound on dosbox is not very good...but it's not bad at all dosbox sound here like 22050 hz I have changed some parametrs on config file without good results maybe sound issues will be fixed in the future also dosbox lacks vsync.lacks save states and there are a lot of bugs I hope a new version will be realesed soon |

I tried it with DosBox 0.61 and the controls doesn't work either Maybe you just have to edit the config files, but I haven't found out how to do it.

I just watched SNES version videos: what a joke. They transcended the concept of parallax scrolling by making it reverse!!
also this "from above" stage sucks. They felt compelled to turn all games to Zelda/Mario shit on the SNES Most of the Amiga/ST -> SNES ports sucked anyway. it's called "adapting to customers" |
