I can confirm so far no issues with a 150GB partition.

Same here, a GUI would be really fantastic to have again the full package. Please Toni.

so I'm using the renamed ApolloOS on my vampire A500. It has the latest PFS installed on it but the old pfsdoctor is MIA, only the experimental one is there.

I have the follow partition on a 320GB SATA HDD, all formatted with the final PFS3.
DH0: 8GB
DH1: 50GB
DH2: 8GB
DH3: 60GB
and DH4: 140GB

I have performed a
pfsdoctor REPAIR

on all of the partitions listed above without issue except for 1.

My DH1 crashed PFSDoctor right at the end.

I've rerun the same command on all other partitions without errors but everytime I run it against DH1: this happens. Then clicking Suspend or Reboot crashes the system in to a reboot.

What should I do? Do I reformat DH1:? Is there a way I can generate a log with the command line version of PFSDoctor to send along?

Really, you run pfsdoctor so often? I am more content with a CLI only tool that doesn't rely on some gui library and can run straight from first CLI

Increase the stack, dude.

Also, all ApolloOS issues should be adressed to its maintainers, the Team Apollo.

Kolla - I am using the cli pfsdoctor - no GUI. Also, I have reported this to the apollo team but I don't think it's an OS issue. Lastly, I don't know how to increase the stack for pfsdoctor.

EDIT - No, I don't run it so often. I ran it to see if there was a problem with any of my partitions. I was getting some software on DH1 that was failing to run properly.

Thanks man. I think I'm going to dedicate an afternoon soon to read through the AmigaDOS manual. I haven't done that since I was in my teens.

Your shell only runs thanks to a GUI library.

If you restrain yourself to intuition.library, you are fine. Most don't.

@kolla - Thank you so much for that suggestion. I increased the stack from 4096 to 8192 and PFSDoctor completed on my DH1 without issues. So my partitions are all good. Great idea to increase the stack. thanks again. And Thanks DamienD for showing me the way.

Is gadtools.library also out of the question?

With one of the main features of PFS3AIO being "Full KS 1.x compatibility"? Go figure.

pfsdoctor does not need to be KS 1.3 compatible, nice to have but not required.

But in my opinion pfsdoctor's GUI is not useful, it does not have any complex interactive features, or nice graphics/diagrams etc that requires GUI.

Hey Toni, I apologise if I missed it someplace. Is there more info available for the new pfsdoctor? doing pfsdoctor /? only shows 4 possible arguments. CHECK, REPAIR, SEARCH or UNFORMAT. I'm curious about "logs" - I'm guessing you can pipe the output anywhere using CON: or something but I have no idea how to do that. So if i wanted PFSDoctor to generate a log (specifically for CHECK) so I can see if there are errors before doing a repair,....

Is there a document someplace that describes all the features and how to use them beyond the 4 options listed above?

Also, increasing the stack on volumes/devices with a large amount of files seems a good idea. Might want to note that someplace. As you can see above, I had an issue where I thought my DH1 might have been in trouble but kolla helped with the stack suggestion and that worked fine.

I don't mean to be a noob second time around with the Amiga, but everyone has to start someplace, even if they have to restart.

The original PFS3 release contains all the doc's incl. pfs3tools.guide for pfsdoctor. If Toni didn't changed something they should be still valid. If there is a readme for PFSAIO it is a must to read because it could contain information that overwrites the old doc's.

How to redirect output can be read in the AmigaDOS manual. Usually it is done with ">". E.g.:
Code:
pfsdoctor >Ram:pfsd.log
pfsdoctor >CON:0/0/320/200/pfsd/wait
About stack have a look at http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/StackAttack2 and your Shell manual for how to set default stack value. It is a good idea to have a large enough stack for Shell. Ghostscript or other linux ports need large stack.

GUI for command line tools can easily done with http://aminet.net/package/util/cli/r or http://aminet.net/package/util/sys/Argue
With R you can just type "r pfsdoctor" and with Argue you need to create small text file for the command. Both use MUI.

Wow, thank you daxb - very much appreciate you pointing the way. I will do my due diligence and take advantage of the path you laid out before me.
