oops, hot swapped CF HD

I hot swapped my cf hard drive (well, it was a warmish swap) and of course its buggered. is it at all recoverable?

Depends on the filesystem. The directory is probably quite messed up.

i mean the card not the data, i get nothing and HDtools and even even PC doesnt reconise it anymore

Have you look under storage/disk management settings in administrative tools/computer management?

I done the same thing with mine, it cooked as a result.
Throw it away, as it will be dead. I tried everything, still no joy.

Can you hear it spinning up? Mine kept spinning and making an odd clicking noise, like it was stuck in a startup loop.

lol, i can confirm it makes the exact same sound it always did!

Hmm... From clueless' last post, it seems you are right!

We all know CF cards don't make any sound at all, but a micro HD isn't always implied where the term CF HD is used.

anyway....looks like its bust then if i cant see it in anything. People seem to have success with kingston cards? 4gb for 10 quid from cconline. seems an ok deal to me.

Sandisk ( real ones ) seem to also be flavour of the month, they work well.
