Correct.
It seems like it was also released on ST: http://www.atarilegend.com/games/gam...p?game_id=4129 I guess there was a Spanish version since Atari Legend mentions "Picsou Cazador del Tresoro" as an alternate title. So perhaps there is also a Spanish Amiga version. The game looks quite cheaply made . In the Atari Legend entry, try to alternatively on each bottom thumbnail. I guess the Scrooge graphic never moves. |

I sell ... 60 $ Kg (I think it is rather $/Kg) I buy [fish picture] 8 $ Kg So perhaps it is an educational software with activities to recognize different objects and doing a bit of maths? Or it is a trade simulation? The 4th screenshot says: resources: coco(nut) carence (ie lack): fish, so it would point towards this idea. |

Actually, speaking French did not help a lot .
Well anyway, after playing a bit I am pretty sure it is an educational game dealing with numbers, disguised as a trading simulation. I guess that after a while, you get some specific items that either allow you to go on the desert islands (normally you end up bitten by a snake) or simply are treasures. I took some screenshots to illustrate why I say that: When you start to trade with "someone" (hawaiian Donald? ), you get a scale and some weights. At first, I thougt it was just to show which quantity you wanted but actually, you have to guess which quantity Donald has. To do that, you put weights, up to 3 of them, on the scales and then click on the tip. If you get: it means Donald has less of the product than what you guessed (here 1 Kg). If you fail a few times, then Donald says you don't know how to weigh things and ask you to come back later (you can come back just after). So basically this part is a "guess number X by being told if your guess is higher or lower each time" game. If you guess correctly the quantity Donald has to offer, you then get a screen with then bank notes and coins that you have. You choose how much you will give to Donald. If you give the right amount, you get the items and go back to the island visiting screen. If you give more than the amount, then you get such a screen: It says: "how much should I give you back". So here, you have to calculate Z - ( X * Y) with: Z: amount of money you gave X: quantity of item Donald has to offer Y: price of of the item In the lower right part, you can read "tu me dois" which means "you owe me" and then boxes where you type the amount of money Donald owes you. When you sell a good to Donald, you get something quite similar although this time, you only have to calculate X * Y. And that's all I can tell from the testing I have done. The game is a pain to play (weird slowness, no sound/music). It does not like 512k slow mem (I had to play with only 512k chip ram, otherwise it gurued). Some islands have "jeu" (game) listed as resources when you click on them. However, I could not find anything to do when visiting them. |
