I had it freeze everytime I tried using 1.3.1 to setup partition. I ended up using V1.2.3 to setup drive. |

V1.2.3 workes better for me than the 1.3.1 version as well on my old nfoce2 mobo, haven`t had time to look into the problems in detail though, might have found a better mobo for my aros machine then I hope to get some aros experience

I can boot V1.2.3 with everything native running perfect, i.e. sound, 3D GFX, Ethernet. Basically the works. I even managed to update to V1.2.5. via updater using cd's. However something big changed between 1.2.5 and 1.3.1 and now it will not boot. Hopefully the new nightly build will fix the issues. Quote:
Could look there first. |

@DeafDaz
Select wipe disk first using the installer. Next choose 'only use free space'. Make sure you have Drive Type 'USB' selected then click proceed. |

I only say, as I done this a year ago, was'nt paying attention to the device and it was set to ata.device. Lets just say I cant see that option now, . As I said there are two patches out to fix problem with USB Drives. Best to try that option first. Safest all round. |

I hear what you're saying, I should have added a warning like, 'Warning this bag of Peanuts may contain nuts', or something like that.

I have just noticed that the USB does not seem to be detected I dont see an icon for the USB in Wanderer, Do i have to Mount it via the shell? or do H somehow Copy the USB driver to Wanderer? BTW this is running from the disk still, Thatseems to be why I am unsuccessful at installing it on USB.

If the stick is formatted correctly a screen should pop up informing you that a usb device has been detected whenever you insert it.

Personally I use Windows with the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool for pendrives.

I used HDtoobox to partition my pendrive from fat32 to Aros RDB. I also have a pendrive with fat32/Aros and a HD partition with Aros on it. I'm not showing off, I've just been experimenting with different setups. |

Its the same, if you wanted to do a self booting pendrive with win 7 installer on it. From what I remember the aros installer wont touch it like that until you diskpart it and mess with it in there, simple cause it sees it as removable. Im obviously going on previous experience, you using latest Aros? |

I think I used ver 1.2? to install Aros to USB. I never used Diskpart, I used the installer to wipe the drive and again to create the partitions. Once done I then made a note of how it was all set out and then used HDtoolbox to replicate what the installer had done. I think that the reason it wont install to USB straight away is because the standard partition is Primary where as Aros uses Extended.
