I was thinking similar. I like ATR but there are elements I find frustrating in the gameplay, largely the scale. If you don't learn the tracks you can't perform at a high level.

With Max Rally it's different, in that you can pick it up and perform a perfect lap, almost immediately due to the scale.

ATR is obviously much more polished. Max Rally feels a touch like a PD game. Needs more graphic detail and the sound is piss poor. But the speed and feel of it are excellent.

I'm having trouble with the menu system. It's as if I have a connected joystick that is constantly pointed in the up direction. When navigating the menu, I move down to select an option, and it immediately moves me back up to the top of the list. Battling against this, if I manage to get as far as selecting Woodland/Cosmic etc. it then acts normally. I'm not sure what's up there. I am using the linked adfs.

^ The new WHDLoad-version linked by Amiga68k states "Button problem with some joypad fixed" so maybe the base version is buggy. Could someone create an (HD) ADF out of the fixed WHDLoad version?

@Amiga68k: Thanks again!

Next season I'll provide links to the EAB File Server right away.

First attempts. Cosmic 5 -track is quite difficult using WinUAE+Keyboard. At least with my reflexes

When playing on keyboard I found remapping firebutton to left CTRL makes playing most Amiga games really comfortable (arrow keys for movement).

I agree.
In fact for casual players or just for immediate fun, Max Rally is better imho.
But for the long term ATR is the must

Thanks everybody for keeping track of their scores. As usual with these multi-part games, it makes life a lot easier for the mods to keep up with whats going on, and update the leaderboard accordingly.

Just to point out there is an alternative way to find your scores, and either way is fine:

Lemon can only hope for a draw at best, otherwise EAB will be 2018 champions. Its been a tough year and the competition has been fierce. But as Linesmachine says, those who have the time to spare can have an advantage.

Thanks! Very glad to have found some time to participate!

Always wanted to play this back in the day but never picked up a copy. The car sprites let the presentation down somewhat, but it's an enjoyable overhead racer, helped a lot by a more zoomed out view than games like ATR and Overdrive, which I still enjoy.

Improved my results a little...

Woodland 4: 09.72
Cosmic 5: 14.36
Alpine 5: 12.64
Dunes 4: 12.88
