Cheap HxC
Could someone give a very simple one line answer to what the best HxC is to get, with a link to buy cheap today.
What is the best HxC to get for n00b, simple, plug and play functionality? I - and I think most general users - just want to unscrew the Amiga internal floppy drive, screw this one in, and be done! No case modding, cable twisting, etc. (LCD doesn't matter to me, if I can pick the ADFs from an on-screen boot menu.) The Slim looks nice, but I don't know if it's plug 'n' play. Thanks in advance for simple one-line answers, preferably with a link to the cheapest store with the HxC in stock. The challenge begins! |

People ignore your questions as you posting them in Gotek thread. Find some HxC thread maybe read a bit before...

It is better if you contact him; he's got options and accesories you may need depending on what you want (external, internal, slim, color of the case, of the screen), but you can take a look first http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=62, http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=13
As you see it's difficult to put just a link. Last edited by Retrofan; 03 March 2014 at 01:18. |

Thanks for not ignoring my question. I want internal. Surely there's a simple answer?

Obviously I tried that and I find threads with 50 opinions. This forum seemed different. If you don't have the answer, don't answer.

@Starglider 2
I've moved those questions into a new thread as they seem to be utterly misplaced in a thread about the Gotek Floppy emulator. Please try to not post OT comments on threads about other products and create a thread about your specific problem instead. Thank you in advance. |

So you should also move hansel75's post starting "Obviously you have never used a HXC before. You can have all your roms sorted into A-Z Folders for easy browsing. The HXC allows browsing for as many folders as you want to setup..."
And desiv's starting "The HxC is a great looking device I have recommended to many people as a polished solution..." And Retrofan's starting "Hey I've got the HxC and it's wonderful. The thing is that soldering..." That's why I replied there. I was contributing to the thread that was clearly heavily discussing the HxC. |

This very post is clearly just asking for a way to get a cheap HxC. Please do understand that's different to people comparing the two devices.

Come on, you'll find more answers here, but as I say you better open the links and ask him for details with my last link.
Edit: Internally you can have this http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=13 (you can put the screen somewhere with cables making a hole, or just take it off) or the slim http://www.lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=114, but not sure about the links if they are both for Amigas, you better ask but I think so. Edit: This is the slim: [ Show youtube player ] You can put it where the original floppy drive goes. Last edited by Retrofan; 03 March 2014 at 02:16. |

I installed this one with no issues in my 4000D. No floppy cable tweaking needed. She works like a champ. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SDFW-HXC-F...item27df0f0381
