Kickstart 3.1 Startup Delay...?

Hi guys, sorry if the title is a little off, I wasn't sure what to call it.

Along with my lovely new ACA1230 I got a few other bits for my Miggy 1200 at the same time - including Kickstart 3.1 roms

Only for some odd reason, from miggy turn on to any other activity - 'Insert floppy' screen, or starting to boot from floppy, takes 32 seconds with the 3.1 roms installed. I thought they weren't working at all until I stood there wondering why and suddenly it started booting.

I swapped in the 3.0 roms (with the ACA1230 etc. still installed) and it's the regular 11 second boot to floppy process. (I counted both times with my watch)

Any ideas?

That's how it is. 3.1 has a longer startup delay.

Fit an IDE killer onto the IDE bus if you don't have anything plugged in.

Then again, if you don't have anything on the IDE bus, the 3.1 upgrade was pretty useless anyway.

This is perfectly normal, its just giving hard disks more of a chance to get going

Ahhh thank you If that's how it's meant to be that's fine, I was just worried something had gone wrong.

I do normally use a compact flash card as a hard drive but it's mounted in WinUAE at the moment being reinstalled, as I suffered some corruption.

such a common 'issue',
I wonder if they could have put some message on screen like "please wait" or similar.
