Died at the same place again. Can't get used to the controls really. The character moves and slides as if he's running on ice, very annoying.

I arrived with 9 lives(it can not have more lives) into the world 4.2,I have wasted many lives for the tiredness and the difficulty of this level.I don't think I give a try again,it's too heavy to play for so long time |

Does anyone find that one of the savepoints in 4.2 doesn't work properly?
This is from memory, because I played this over a year ago, I seem to remember one of the reasons this level was so hard was because when you died you would respawn at a certain place that wasn't one of the normal respawn points and you had to go through a very tough area with the minimum starting weaponry and health. |

I'm actually quite enjoying the fact that we're all stuck on the same level 4.2 is a real bast*rd - make no mistake! Makes for a really interesting competition though!
A tip with 4.2 is to take it slowly, making sure all the generator pads are knocked out. Otherwise when you die (and you will!) you'll have to face lots of enemies with practically no health to spare. Generator pads (and the bats) will activate three or perhaps four times, and you must get rid of the whole blummin lot of em if you want to progess the levels with any measure of safety. It also pays to leave lots of spare hearts all over the place too. I notice the hearts don't give you any extra score (well, the small red ones anyway), so you may as well leave em alone until you do need them later. Avoided most of the wizards this time and finally made it through that annoying basement. Wondered why I then returned to the top part of the level. Went down and remembered that the exit is close to the start. Now it was open. Had 691k at that point.
Level 4-3 is a pure bonus stage with about 800 coins to replenish your lives. But since coins are only worth 1 point each my score didn't improve much. For level 4-4 you'll have to be very focussed and patient. Then it shouldn't be that hard. Well, I wasn't focussed and patient by then anymore and lost all my lives (in the part of the level I played there weren't any points to get). 692,760 About level 4-2: I think we should just start with the difficult part and go to the right and down right away. Maybe then even the save point will work (the top save point is probably too close to the exit and thus "overrides" the bottom save point). |

Well done John, you managed to discover the bonus level also - I guess that came as a welcome surprise .
4.2 - Actually, I find from the start it's best to go slightly right, then all the way left, up and over to the top right. Then, before dropping down the hole, make sure to can pick up the rocket lancher and a shield; and this should get you past the exteremly hard bit. In the clip I filmed for Lemon, you can clearly see me pick up the shield WAYY too early, and then run off in completely the wrong direction, so I lost the chance to get past that swinging ball thing in one go. 4.4 - I see you discovered the spiky pits of death! Damn impossable level IMO . I'll try and reach this point soon now that I know what I did wrong on 4.2. After the 'death' level is the end of game boss, if I recall correctly. Never actually got to the end without a save before, so this is gonna be haaaard. Last edited by lifeschool; 17 July 2011 at 14:56. |

Scored better this time. Killed most of the enemies except the wizards and had 711k at the end of 4-2.
4-4 really wasn't all that hard. Just take your time - one platform after another. Against the final boss I just crouched and shot - his rockets always went over my head and never touched me (the creators probably didn't playtest him enough). 734,138 Game finished - but the outro seems to be missing in my ADFs: Yes, definitely. |
