Read the thread : it looks like he doesn't even have a WB setup...

Yes, both you and Solo had already recommended that he install WB anyway, so I was proceeding on the basis that he decided to follow that advice. A computer without an operating system is fairly useless anyway.

Exactly as Meynaf said.

If OP have had Workbench, there should be no problem running normal version and transfer party. And You need any WB/KS (3.0 up), not 3.9 as for MCP.

Using MCP in this case is like go to neighbour from opposite side of world

What he has (or appears to have) is just some kind of embedded emulator configured to run a specific game directly.

Hi,

no time to test but read original instruction on HOL:
Original EOB1 save game transfert manual

in my memory just copy EOBDATA.SAV file in main game data folder before launch game (folder with all game data and EOB2 save games)

@CFOU!

I just checked this and can confirm that it's not working with WHDLoad version. When You try this, You have message as on attached screenshot in first post.

thanks everyone
being a complete noob, I feel like i'm getting closer. Just getting WB to work. It's been a bit of an education, but fun.
Seems I've got WB able to run through FS-UAE, now just have to get comfortable with navigating/where to put which files, etc.
I found this link useful for the WB through FS-UAE info:
https://fs-uae.net/installing-classicwb-in-fs-uae
took some searching to find

yes AGA versions

I've included a screenshot, maybe seeing the other files could help?
I "show package contents, and within the Resources folder, Hard Drives, and data-vga folders, the .SAV file there... could there be additional files to copy?

Hi,
Just wondering if there is a fix for this yet? Like the original poster, I am using the EOTB versions from gamesnostalgia.com

If I try Transfer Party from the ETOB2 menu it asks for my EOTBDATA.SAV file. If I copy this file from my EOTB data-vga folder to the equivalent EOTB2 folder I get the "Please, Remove EOTB1 error" as show in the screenshot.

Not that I'm aware of.

To be honest, I solely joined this board for the EOTB stuff. I was never into the Amiga emulator stuff, and after trying my hand at getting the FS-AUE/workbench stuff working on my mac, I just kind of gave up on this thread.

I find the emu stuff hard to follow.
IIRC, I was able to get Workbench to run, but was not clear on how to get the version of EOTB to run on it...if that makes sense. Like, wasn't clear on where to store/access the files/folders etc.

I'm sure if I really set my mind to it, I could figure it out, but I'm not as patient or computer literate as it seems a lot of people here are.

I love that they made playing EOTB possible, because I'd never played it before.

I ended up just starting EOTB2 with a new party for the time being...
but if this ever does get sorted, I'll definitely be revisiting Temple Darkmoon with the previous party.

Cheers

When you say "use normal (not WHDLoad) version", that's the part that I get lost on, as I say, I don't know how to properly run workbench and load the "normal version"

the version of the games I (and Yorkie, it seems) are using are the versions available through https://gamesnostalgia.com/game/eye-...eholder-ii-aga
and
https://gamesnostalgia.com/game/eye-of-the-beholder

like someone else mentioned, they're like embedded emulation. They don't require you to have Amiga emulation background to use. As if the emulator is wrapped together into one program file.
They're just plug and play, sort of.

Hopefully this makes it clearer as to why it's not straightforward to us on how to run the "normal version"... having downloaded fs-uae, getting workbench, but after that, I'm lost on how to run the game from the files downloaded from gamesnostalgia/com

Personally, not a big deal. I understand I'm not entitled to have anyone here hold my hand and give me a very detailed step-by-step on what to do.

as I've said earlier, it's just a matter of how much time I want to devote to properly understanding the emulation side of things.

Has the floppy disc name "EOTB1" been C:ASSIGN `ed to somewhere on your HardDrive in a startup script? S:STARTUP-SEQUENCE or S:USER-STARTUP

C:ASSIGN EOTB1: TO DH0:Games/EOTHB1 (or whichever HDD partition your using)

Its the way many floppy disc based games are installed onto HDD

It's WHDLoad version, normal HD version doesn't have this problem. Moreover probably there is no floppy version of AGA versions of EotB.
