An old release...

Looking through my backups I found a nice tribute i made to the oldschool Amiga demoscene.

I made a megademo-style flash thingy, with all routines coded by me in Actionscript 1.0. There's no timeline animation, that I remember, all is code.

I put it online here:

It was released at the Flashparty 2001 in Buenos Aires, Argentina
I remember my superpowa (by then!) Pentium 3 struggling to get the effects right

Nope , sorry for peeking... there is several none coded animations..... in fact, like 90% of the demo is animated .. sorry to burst your bubble.

Timeline or no timelime, more than 90% is animated, with tweening etc, no coding

Nice to see more people enjoy using Flash.

Generations Ahead... hmm, that phrase sounds familiar... heh.

Anyway, was quite nice - and ActionScript is a horrid piece of shit excuse for a language, so make no excuses for avoiding it!

I liked the 3D, spike balls, the perspective seemed a bit exaggerated? And the usual framerate issues and occasional flicker/hickup in Flash, but ofc that's not your fault

But I _loved_ the C= smiley!! Did you come up with that idea? Awesome

Hey Akira nice demo! I like the combination of the music and the effects. I don't care if it's timelined or scripted as long as it looks good
Any chance you do something alike in the future?

Ditto, you can do some fine effects in flash now. Oh, and why not try M$'s Silverlight too?

Actually there is one demo that uses this idea, ,can't remember which one. I f I remember I will post it. It got stuck from there...

Anyway this is old and nostalgic, I was just happy to find it and thought it's not that bad after all these years. I should try to do something again, today you can do crzy shit with actionscript, i've seen some mad 3D engines!

hey that's pretty cool for sure, but I'll be honest here:
If I was to spend my time learning Actionscript 3, I rather spend it learning ASM for the Commodore 64 and make demos.
