There's also a new Turrican clone called Metal Dust in development for the C64, which looks the goods. Only problem is that it's for SuperCPU machines only!

Turrican Clone

This is no T-Clone, it´s a Shmup like R-Type/Katakis/etc.

Um...Turrican is NOT like R-type and Katakis. A couple of later levels are scmups, but the rest of the game is a platform shooter jobbie, with huge levels and awsome weaponary. Thou art mistaken (which is, like, really posh for "utterly wrong, dude")

Yeh I did mean Katakis/R-Type. The brain knew it was something associated with Rainbow Arts/Factor 5, but didn't quite translate it to the fingers at 4am after a long HOL session!
