Wizkid - hidden room

I swear that a hidden room with a TV screen containing an extra life exists on Level 3 (Mount Wizimanjaro). I remember playing the game one time and I actually managed to walk through the lava unscathed and found this room to the right, and I jumped on the TV and got an extra life! However I can't remember how I managed to get past the lava before (was it a colour combination I used?). Does the Asteroids ship that appears in the lava when you wear one of the pairs of glasses have anything to do with it? Has anyone else ever discovered the hidden room before? Help me, and I will give you kudos and praise for your great efforts

It does have something to do with the colour crytals. I can't recall exactly but if your carrying the correct one (red I think) than the screen turns red and evrythingon the screen which was red dissapears. Thus you are able to walk through the laver and see the asteriod ship which I beleive is the extra life ( or it is at the end asteriod game). Hope this helps and by the way - how did you get on with NIghtbreed?

Question Ever completed Wizkid?

Ah Wizkid... One of the wackiest yet most playable games on Amiga.
Has anyone of you ever completed it? It seems the levels are scattered all over the game. I cannot access them all during one gamesession. Because of this I can not collect enough kittens and lose everytime when the 'rowing-boat' match takes place in the last part of the game.

completing the game

The only way to complete the game is to visit every island - and more importantly to collect a kitten from every island. You can only progress to the next level if you collect a kitten form it before you leave - if you don't collect one then you will miss an Island out and therefore not have enough kittens to win the race at the end!

Funny, thought I tried that once and just perished from laying a single toe on the lava that I couldn't see... perhaps the three doors have anything to do with it? The middle one is a risky path to take as it dumps you in the middle of the dip therefore the lava could kill you upon arrival. And the door on the left puts you on the platform with the red diamond.

As for Night Breed, I've simply given up. If you are serious about the fact that I've discovered everything the game has to offer, then I'm buggered... UNLESS someone HAS gotten further into this game AND has the screenshots to prove it. Perhaps a certain Cody could explain everything?

doors

it is something to do with the doors. Its been so long since I played it though that I've forgotten. You need something in your posession and to go thriough the right door............I think that there are pairs of glasses for sale in the shop? - if so buy the red ones and the lava will not hurt you. Try that and let me know.........;-)

Just so everyone knows: You can walk in the lava if you have an even number of Stars. It's got NOTHING to do with the crystals.

I don't know what the Asteroid Ship does though, can anyone help me complete this game?

At the end of the game when you get to the wizard's [if it a wizard - been a while] island you have to defeat his high-score at Asteroids. Hence the Asteroids' ship is an extra live for the game.

I have completed the game back in the day so it is possible

Wowza! I wish you hadn't spoilt the end of the game for me, but perhaps you can help me figure out how to get that last darn Kitty from level 5? (The vampire/grave senario.)

Sure thing!

The first picture is of the level. The second is after you've killed yourself in the level and turned into a ghost. The ghost floats into the tomb. The third picture is the dang vampire in the tomb that I'm supposed to use an item with. I presume by doing this I will get a Kitty and move on to Level 6 (I can just walk past the vampire to level 6, but no Kitty )

Answers on a postcard!

I'll have a think - I can barley remember the level. I think you need a cross - did you pick the cross from on top of the steeple when you where in the bi-plane?

This is the hints & tips section of the manual:

HINT & TIPS
-=-=-=-=-=-
Here are some useful tips from B.D. snail himself:
1. The best way to play is to hit the tiles as fast as possible on diagonals
to smash them everywhere. Don't worry too much about conserving tiles.
2. In the cave maze: "Go throught the exit even thought it's not there, try
room 32 to see what is where."
3. An extra life can be found somewhere on round 6.
4. The lava flow can't kill if something is even.
5. Remember, you don't have to pick up the kitten if you don't want to
progress to the next round immediately.
6. Do what you can't in the past.
7. The lucky dip takes an object as well as giving you one.
8. Money can't be transported between rounds.

Oooooh, thanks for solving an antagonizing mystery for me there, Johnny! I never seemed to recall any of those tips from the manual, funnily enough. What a sneaky solution to a tricky puzzle though.

If only more games like Wizkid came about these days...
