Composite issue

Hi Guys,

I bought a 15" LCD screen off ebay - it is a TV plus VGA, composite, SCART SVHS inputs.

The problem is when I connect amiga 1200 through the composite it looks terrible - the whites are "burned out" totally....so I've connected through RF - this gives me a better picture.

Interestingly my mega drive works fine on the composite (different lead though)....

Do you think it's the amiga?

Probably. Some LCD digitising circuits are very intolerant to out of spec voltage levels unlike CRT's.

Use an RGB SCART cable instead.

I get the same via my A600, the picture via compsite is nice on my 1084 but horrid on my LCD TV

I get the best picture on my LCD with RGB Scart

On some LCD TV the best picture is always via the VGA port: try with a silver adapter to see if the LCD TV accept the Amiga 15kHz signal.

If it works, be glad, very glad.

There will be no difference between RGB SCART and a VGA which accepts 15KHz RGB.

A large proportion of LCDTV's do not accept 15KHz via VGA.
