I think the is a downloadable add-on set for customers who bought 3.1.4.

Once you registered your copy of 3.1.4, you can download it from Hyperion's website.

They are on the extras disk, have a quick look on YouTube, there's a simple cli command to copy them over.

It's the Storage disk, but yes, they're included with the OS floppies.

Ah so so when I get my Classic 520 from AmigaStore EU which will be flashed with AmigaOS 3.1.4 which
comes with digital floppy disk images I will have the icons to use on both 3.1 and 3.1.4 ?

Is there an icon set with 3.1 ?

Be careful doing that. This will replace all icon tooltypes with the default ones. Better use something like copyicon from aminet.

If you do the copy after installation of the OS it will replace the default tooltypes by the same default tooltypes, so no issue. If you changed tooltypes after installation, just remember the changes and do them again.

Here you go, it's a useful update pack which adds various applications and updates whilst maintaining a lightweight setup:

Speaking of Workbench icons, what would cause the (theoretically?) same MagicWB-template drawer icons in the window below to be rendered differently if/when the Workbench palette gets remapped?

The drawer icons starting with "Disks-" are always rendered correctly, as opposed to the others, which (on occasion) are slightly off:

This is on a 256-color Workbench screen (ZZ9000-powered) with 3.1.4.1 and the "Set MagicWB colors" checkbox selected in Workbench Prefs.

Am I right in assuming that the non-"Disks-" icons themselves are to blame and need to be edited somehow?

I've tried numerous patches (in addition to the MagicWB daemon itself) that claim they'll always prevent the colors from getting messed up, but no such luck.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this stuff; an old Amiga user who should know better, but...

Can you make a hardcopy of the wrongly rendered icons? And can you attach some of the icons?

AFAIR some MagicWb icons are 8 colours and some (older) MagicWB icons are 256 colours, but they only actually use the first 4 and last 4 colours in the palette. Only the first 8 colours of the palette are locked, so these 256 colour icons need to be converted to 8 colour icons if you use more than 8 colours on your Workbench.

@ thomas: I've attached a .zip file with one of each. I printed a color hardcopy, and they rendered the same as what you see on-onscreen.

@ James: Thanks! By any chance is there a utility you might recommend for converting them (hopefully batch convert?)

Ok. Commodore-Amiga.info is a standard MagicWB icon, depending on MagicWB-Daemon or similar to lock MagicWB colors.

The other one is a real strange thing. Its icon image has 256 colors similar to what James explained but surely not taken from MagicWB but rather saved wrongly. Additionally it has an OS 3.9-type palette mapped image which contains the same picture with proper MagicWB colors. So as long as you have an OS 3.9-compatible workbench.library, this one will be shown correctly. But on OS 3.1 and below it will never look right unless you reconstruct the exact palette the creator used when he or she saved the icon file.

Oops, sorry, this was a misunderstanding. I meant if you can make a screenshot like the one you posted above, but showing the wrong colors.
