Bit of thread-revival!

Can anyone who bought an Amigakit replacement drive tell me exactly what you got! It is just a random drive that has been converted or is it a Panasonic JU or a Teac? It would be good to see a piccy of the actual drive they sent.

Having to sort out a NOS A1200 that came with a fubard Panasonic drive.

Its a converted drive, with a converted button.

It is a random converted drive. Unfortunately the drive is now in my Amiga so I can't check to see what branding if any is on it.

I meant to note on this thread that some games seem to take longer to load than with original drive. The person that recapped my 1200 first noticed it with Putty and I also confirmed this with Downfall AGA.

I've had no compatibility problems though, just slower loading times on a few games.

Same here.
No problems or known issues with mine..
Haven't noticed any slowdowns either..
(Not saying there aren't any slowdowns, just haven't noticed any.. )

No issues at all with AmigaKit's floppy. It does have a different sound though, but that is hardly an issue.
