CD32 flickering scroll
Hey everyone
I just got a Cd32 for teh first time thanks to DJay, and I am quite happy about it, I always wanted to have one! I have tried the Cd200 and Turrican compilations and I noticed one thing: teh scrolling is jittery. It's not as smooth as I know it is. Is this due to the SVideo output? Thanks! |

Hmm I have checked some more games and they look OK, like Ruff & Tumble.
Is this a normal CD32 issue? Really happy with this machine, I don't need to game on my A1200 ever again |

Sorry to be talking to myself here, but I am surprised I got no replies. Nobody has experienced this?

I think some of those compilation cds are a little buggy. Could be many things, remember that the games on those cds are the floppy versions, being loaded from cd. The games are probably loaded using whdload (hidden). The cd32 only has 2mb, so that could also be the problem.

But why would floppy versions deliver jittery scrolls? hese same WHDLoad versions run smooth on my A1200.
I want to define if it is something with the CD32 or if it is something related to the display technology, either the S-Video output or my TV. At the moment, I can't connect the machine to anything else for I have no cables. I know the TV adds some sort of smoothing, because it';s an LCD TV, but the scrolling should still be smooth and in a frame. |

Is there maybe a "game mode" option activated in your LCD TV? If yes, turn it off. I assume your TV supports real 50Hz.

I think it may have that option but I had it turned off. What is it? Hmm on second thought, my old TV did but not this one.
Also, yes, the TV is working at 50Hz, it's an european PAL TV. Unless there's something I am unaware of :P I have tried the Amiga 1200 through SCART RGB and it worked fine (but just in case, I will try it again and see how it goes). |

Yup, it is some sort of issue with the television.
Not sure which issue, but it is the culprit. Wired my A600 through SCART RGB to it and played Turrican 2: same issue. Dang it |
