OS3.9 cannot help you. You are limited by ECS chipset in A3000.

Solution is to buy an RTG gfx card?

Picasso IV ~ £150
CV64 ~£100
CV643D ~ £90
Picasso II ~ £80
Piccolo ~ £80

Probably want to invest in more RAM too. Upgrade motherboard RAM to 16Mbytes with either more ZIP RAM or a ZIP2SIMM adapter.

030 is good for os 3.9, but 4 mb will be gone in an eyeblink. if you want to run 3.9 without tearing your hair out, you should get more RAM.

but as alex said, it won't give you more colors.
