A2000 keyboard on A4000

I am wondering if it is possible to use an Amiga 2000 keyboard on an Amiga 4000 Desktop.

To do this I'd be using one of those adaptors that go from a larger keyboard plug to the PS2 style plug....would one made for a PC keyboard work? the plugs fit, but I'm scared to try it...I don't want to blow anything up, if I break this keyboard I'll have two systems without one instead of one, and trying to find an Amiga anything in my area is impossible.

Thanks

I'd order one online that says 'amiga' on the website, but I'm in Canada and by the time you calculate shipping and exchange rate I'm close to $30 for something that resembles what I could buy down the street for $3. Just want to know if its the same thing.

An A2000 on an A4000?

Depends what the sodomy laws are in your state.

Yes it's definitely possible, but I'm not sure if the pc plug converter will work. my memory says the pinouts were compatible, so it should possibly work, but you should double check at some pin out sites.

It definately works just buy an AT to PS/2 adapter for a PC and you are set.

Another possibility could be a KVM switch, which would allow you to use both the A2000 and A4000 off the one keyboard / mouse. It is possible to still get serial/AT KVM's which should be more friendly. Youll still need an AT/PS2 adapter to convert between the KVM and A4000

The kvm must be a dumb "switch only" kvm.. If it's one of those digital ones, it won't work, since those emulate a PS/2 mouse and an AT keyboard..
