National Hockey League & Amiga announce deal

Not quite sure what's going to happen here, but i noticed this news story on nhl.com:

http://www.nhl.com/news/2005/10/237182.html

Seems to me like some kind of content is going to be created, games and other content for various platforms, the interesting thing is why did they choose Amiga out of the blue like that? As a hockey fan, i'll be watching this closely...

Lightbulb I only wish

These "New" phone & PDA games seem to be similar to earlier software packages Amiga's owners have been touting for a while.

It's a FAR cry from the hardware that enticed us to become so interested in the firstplace

However some will surely want to "BELIEVE" it keeps the name alive instead of just cashing in on its past

Being Canadian it's obvious I'm a hockey fan. I just wish Amiga Inc. would change it's name. It's obvious they are not into the hardware side anymore and that is where they will be remembered. Not shilling some low budget PDA software. It's almost blasphemous.

Do you agree that NHL 94 on Genesis is the greatest hockey game ever?

That's pretty neat about Amiga and the NHL signing a deal like that, I'm a huge hockey fan myself so that's cool!

And the best hockey game on the Amiga is Wayne Gretzky Hockey (by Bethesda I believe).

That one was great but did not have one timers yet.
And Mats Sundin was not too fantastic in it, Swede.

I hate realistic sports games, so my money is on Nintendo Ice Hockey (NES) I remember my brother and I got callouses on our thumbs playing it. We just put tape over them and continued playing, gritting our teeth :P :P

Retro NHL games are cool. I like NHL 07 and 09 on PS2, but only versus human being.

Mats is fantastic anywhere anytime, I love his skull.

I'm gonna create ICE HOCKEY social club, people from Finland,Sweden,Czech Rep.,Canada will be invited as well as almost everybody who mentioned that likes ice hockey in some thread.
If you like ice hockey and wanna discuss about sweat players and smell in dressrooms, you are welcomed.
