Wink Amiga magazine with focus aside from games?

I'm enjoying reading Amiga Format, but I realize it's about fifty percent games. I never thought I would ask such a question, but I'd like to read more about the applications, hardware and real-world uses of the Amiga outside of gaming (which I think I have covered now with my recent purchases ).

Can anyone make a recommendation?

There was Amiga Shopper that covered the hardware and software utilities, no games.
Also Amiga User International that covered a lot of utilities and hardware.
Amiga Computing was another one that covered a lot of utility software as well as games.

No problem. There was a lot of magazines around back in the day, those should keep you busy for a while though.

I was completely awestruck by Amiga Format back in the day (and I still think it has great content, layout, writing etc). But I possibly missed out on becoming more skilled.

So it'll be great to see some DTP in action and maybe see how many of the old apps will serve my needs today. I think that most of what I do outside of work (basic web, email, DTP, play music, create music) could possibly be done in a virtual Amiga environment. If it goes well I'll probably get the hardware.

In addition to aforementioned CU Amiga. I still have almost all AF and CU issues. Nostalgic reads.

I had a shit pile of cu,af, the one, amiga power, AA and cd32 gamer...then I dumped them in a skip. Bad idea...something about letting go of the past.

I still have a few issues in a drawer though. Fun to read.

Yes, very true. The only thing I'm not nostalgic about are the prices. I'm glad to see the it wasn't just my imagination that Amiga Format was as good as I remember. Compared to current mags like Linux Format, AF had a larger page size, far more pages (almost 200!), better and more creative magazine layout.

Amiga Future is published bi-monthly and should fit the bill, there's a bit of games, a bit of retro but mostly other articles.

Amiga Future is printed both in English and German, and becomes available as PDF when the printed magazines are sold out. I think you can also buy DVDs with a whole year's issues?
