DMS is buggy and unreliable. Using TSgui to create the images is a much much better idea.

This was fine back in the BBS-Days for archiving, but nowadays it's pointless, with Terabytes of HD-Space and Gigahertz's of Computing Power.
I did my first Disk-Backups with dms also, just to convert them later to ADF. And had to dump a few again, because of the mentioned errors.
Also the TOSEC project uses ADF's for archiving.
So please use ADF instead, really! Because even thousands of ADF-Diskimages uncompressed fit easily on a 4-8GB CF-Card
I guess I'm just old fashioned that way. (:

I use dms all the time and can't say I've had much (if any) trouble with it. But if it's unstable like you guys say then sure, adf is way better. Personally I'm sticking with dms since I don't have tb's of hd space and don't really care what tosec's doing. (:

But that's me!

Edit: Just wanna add that I don't mean any disrespect towards tosec by saying what I said above, it's just not my thing.

Sorry guys, I've been a bit busy installing a new DVD burner. Being new to the internet (see my new member intro) I haven't got a clue about uploading (despite the fact I have been using an Amiga for well over 20 years everyday).

Anyway the ISO file for the DVD is 4.3Gb in size and I would be glad to have it uploaded if its any use to anyone. But as I say I don't have a clue about uploading (I only got my DVD burning progs onto Aminet, cos they were kind enough to let me upload via email, thank's all at Aminet).

I dunno if someone can send me a pm on this site or explain here how to go about it but if they could that would be great.

I might know all their is to know about 'Classic Amigas but when it comes to the internet then I am a DUMMY !!!

Cheers

Hehe, no worries Have a look here : http://cyberduck.ch/
Since I don't use a Mac myself, I can't really help you with this specific program, but the basic setup to connect to a FTP server shouldn't be too complicated.
To connect to the FTP server for our file server, use these connection details :
Code:
Address : ftp://eab.whdownload.com
User : eabftp
Password: Upl0ad3r
Hope this works for you

TSgui and ADF format looks like the winning combo.

Looks like I have some work ahead of me starting this weekend.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Hi TheCyberDruid, had to go out today, wasn't expecting to be back this late.
I've just took a look at that link you posted, that prog is for MAC OX10.5 my poxy mac only runs 10.4, but now I know what I need to find, I'll scour the internet first thing in the morning for one that I can run and start trying to upload tommorow.

Hopefully by sometime tomorrow afternoon I should have managed to upload the ISO file.

Might take a bit longer cos i've only been using a mac for about 4-5 weeks and Im still sussing it out. (That's why I've always used Amigas, they have the best OS system ever created)

Anyway hopefully sometime tomorrow my little treasure trove will be uploaded for all the Amiga world to share.

Be on it first thing in the morning...

Cheers

Hi folks

Spent all morning just trying to get the ISO image onto this iMac, eventually found some info and got it onto the HD. Then I had to scour the internet to find some sort of FTP server (thanks all, for the hints).

I only managed to find one about 30 mins ago that would run on this mac (OSX 10.4.11), just trying to figure out right now how to set it up and use it. Hopefully, very shortly I'll be able to begin the upload, reckon it might take a while cos the ISO is over 4Gb in size.

I wish my amiga was able to be online, cos my own DVD utils I wrote would have done it in half the time it took this ruddy iMac to do...

Anyway I'm going to head back to this Cyberduck prog and try and start the upload.

Cheers everyone

You need a FTP client, not a server mate Important difference

Hi TheCyberDruid

I've got the Server Client set up now, but when I try to connect using the info you gave above

FTP://eab.whdownload.com
User: eabftp
Password Up10ad3r

I keep geting the following message...

eab.whdownload.com OK
the entered user 'eabftp' or password is incorrect
connection failed

This is doing my head in...
I think it might be the password cos even as I am typing this I can't get the font this browers using to match the 3rd & 4th letter of the password !!!

are they the letters l & 0 or the numbers 1 & 0, this is bizzare they don't show up here or anywhere I type as they appear in you post, help !!!

I've tried that, but get the same error message...
I'll restart the client and give it another go.
